For example, if a Southwest or UPS pilot was catching a ride home on an American A320, and there was an illness or emergency, could he/she help fly the rest of the flight or would the other pilot just bring it down solo? Being safety is the end all I would assume, and hope, yes they could help, but...

NYC-Florida flights are "Zoos" to begin with, not at all shocked by this. An ex-girlfriend was an FA for Pan Am back in the day, even back then, physical altercations were not uncommon.

Had no idea that Braniff had a large presence at BOS. Logan was just "down the road" from me when I was a kid back then. My Father flew Delta all the time from BOS but I never recall seeing Braniff's Orange monster at Logan when we would drop him off. What year was this, I am guessing 79-80?
