My 3 primary reward earners are AA Advantage, Hilton and BOA Royal Caribbean VISA.
Second is WN and DL for airlines, and various other hotel brands but I have status w/Hilton and Royal Caribbean and favor their brands.
Tertiary is Amtrak.

AA does permit a personal item and one carry-on. Review the basic economy rules/restrictions on the AA website under the Travel Information and Travel Experience links. And you can then go back and correct yourself to friends and family.
