Re: Long Thanh Int'l Airport: Construction and Development Thread

One should also note that the Annamite Range (Trường Sơn) that situated along the Central Coast of VN would also represent a real challenge in building a new High speed line. There will be a lot of tunnelling required to make this feasible.

Re: Long Thanh Int'l Airport: Construction and Development Threa

I think it'd be a little weird for there to be zero domestic connections, surely a handful of flights to DAD, HAN, HUI, CXR, PQC etc for connections would be viable? I'm sure there's enough demand from those places to other cities outside Vietnam to justify 2-3 flights per day (to meet a bank of de...

Re: Vietnam Airlines wants to speed up its order of 50 narrowbodies amid COVID-19

Could be a smart move. Assuming they survive, they would be well placed come the recovery (whenever that might be). The Vietnamese Government currently owns approx. 86% of the share and I think that it will be unlikely that the Party and Government leadership will let the flag carrier collapse. Dur...

Re: Bamboo announces Prague-Hanoi 3x weekly on new 789

I thought HAN-SVO/VKO/DME would be better because of the massive Vietnamese diaspora in the Moscow metro area, but still interesting. HAN-LAX next maybe? The demand for Moscow is probably being sufficiently covered by VN and SU. SU is currently flying daily to HAN and VN is operating 3 flights a we...

Re: Bamboo announces Prague-Hanoi 3x weekly on new 789

Glad to see Bamboo spreading their wings, I can't say I'm convinced they'll go the distance, but the spotting scene in SGN needs more variety! I'd love to see more of the European carriers flying here (besides AF), but realistically I don't think it will happen for a long while yet, if at all. I do...

I am always wondering if we will see the likes of LH returning to SGN/HAN from either FRA or MUC using new equipment like the A359 or the future 789.

How does this affect VN's and VASCO's ATR's? They are not that young as well. VN is currently looking at dry leasing 5 regional aircrafts (Either E175Plus or CRJ900) to replace the VASCO's ATR. https://www.marketscreener.com/EMBRAER-6492875/news/Embraer-Vietnam-Airlines-to-dry-lease-five-brand-new-...

You may have confused the A350 with the 777.

Re: 787-10 Performs 14 Hour Commercial Flight

Even higher density configured -10s (VN with 367 seats) should have no issues flying 10-11 hr routes with no payload penalty. The longest route HVN will operate by B78X is SGN-ICN, 2209 miles - less than 5 hrs flights. HVN will not use its 78X for any other longer routes, that's the reason why VN c...

Can it be such that the slot agreement was made between the French Government and Japan rather than with the Netherland?

I believe a JV with VN will also help KE in trying to compete against LCC(s) to and from Vietnam. KE currently flies to 5 different cities in Vietnam (including second tier cities like Da Lat and Nha Trang) and given the huge amount of business and leisure traffic volumes between the two countries, ...

You can easily tell a Charleston 787 from a Seattle one based on the rattles and amount of movement of the bulkhead, toilet walls etc whilst taxiing. It can be quite impressive! Agree, I think the 787 and A350 interiors are aging badly. On one hand shoddy cleaning is to blame, on the other ha...

I used Terminal 2E (Hall L) and Terminal 2F (for domestic flight) earlier this year during peak hour with Air France and found them to be fairly efficient. I found the CDGVAL however to be a bit too crowded and it was a bit of a bottleneck trying to carry luggage up and down the platforms.

The 7-abreast direct-aisle access Apex Suites used by JAL business class is one of the best seat currently being offered on the market. It may not be as space efficient as other 1-2-1 business class seats but it definitely provides a full length bed and the window seats are actually very private.
