This reminds me of US-Bangla Airlines flight 211 (Ironically their flight code is BS) I just saw it on Air Crash Investigation.

Pilot almost flew the plane INTO the control tower.

Well, don’t forget “we” still have an airport in Lelystad that has to open. I am sure KLM is more than happy to let her daughter Transavia play there, while taking the slots over at AMS. This way KL can expand operations at slot restricted Schiphol without actually obtaining new slots.

I think it is safe to say that Delta isn’t interested in the 737 Max for years to come? Buying these 739’s and with a 131 A320-family + 45 A220 planes still on order I don’t see them buying new Max planes.

In a world where there is a longstanding AF-KL-DL transatlantic JV, KL can buy the MAX and DL can fly whatever A321XLR routes make sense from the US to AMS. Unless the Dutch government will finally grant the additional 40.000 slots per year, DL won't (can't) add routes served with only an A321XLR. ...

Yet Airbus (and airlines) see the a350 as the Dreamliner competitor. Remember that Airbus developed the a350 more as an upgrade to the a330 instead of a brand new airplane. It wasn’t until airlines said “we’re not going to buy this thing if you don’t give us a new fuselage” that Airbus realized that...

Interesting times and this might be a THE golden opportunity for Airbus to get a foot in the door in Amstelveen. Who needs this order more, I wonder?
