Re: Emirates announces DXB - MIA - BOG from 3 June 2024

Avianca is now complaining... as I stated upthread, if 75% of the pax are local MIA-BOG traffic, does this violate the spirit of the bilateral? https://www.financecolombia.com/colombia-approves-new-emirates-route-from-dubai-avianca-has-tantrum/ Yes it does appear to violate the spirit. The MIA-BOG ...

Re: United confirmed as first tenant of new Terminal A at EWR

Once upon a time Continental had various partners in Terminal C, I could see Air Canada going back to Terminal C. They mostly fly ERJ-175s into EWR which can operate from the C-2 concourse, they also had the 787 to YVR. Airlines that previously flew out of Terminal C: Air Canada (they bought part o...

Re: The future of LaGuardia

Why doesn’t the new Terminal have international gates? Wouldn’t it free up slots at JFK if flights from Ireland and Iceland were allowed to arrive at LGA? Runways are very short at LaGuardia. I believe A320/737 are the biggest size plane that can land at LaGuardia. Also there is no CBP and FID stat...

Any update on DL or VS at EWR. VS just stopped flying EWR to LHR completely

When will NZ start flying direct from AKL to LHR. Are they waiting for the A350 or will they use a long range 787?

Re: Air New Zealand Sells London Heathrow Airport Slot For $27 Million

Emirates is interested in increasing its LHR flights. Wow, even when it already has 6 daily flights, all on A380s? Not to mention 3 daily A380 flights to LGW? Never knew demand between LHR and DXB would be THAT massive. They also fly twice daily from Stansted on a 777, that's 11 flights a day. Abso...

Re: EWR and Foreign Carriers

As most of you probably know. SAS used JFK until the tie up with Star alliance and Continental. Then SAS moved traffic to EWR. SAS operates from Terminal B at EWR and I’m not sure it’s an upgrade compared to terminal 1 at JFK. What I would like to know if how they compare? At terminal B there are ha...

Re: Delta “Waiting To Order” Boeing NMA

Anybody know why Delta hasn’t ordered a Boeing plane in a long time. It seems like all of their new buys have been Airbus planes. Delta just recently received the last of a 130 aircraft order for 737-900ER aircraft. It hasn't been that long. I should’ve said new orders, Delta didn’t order the 787 o...

United has this problem with some other Star Alliance members too, almost all of them fly to JFK, and some don’t fly to EWR at all. Somehow United will make it work, I suppose

This is definitely not true. US doesn’t allow Cabtoage (8th/9th Freedom of the air) Flights. Very few countries outside of Europe do.

Norwegian leaving EWR in a few weeks

Norwegian has just announced that they are leaving Newark Airport at the end of the month. Does this mean more airlines are coming to Terminal B, or are French Bee and Corsair taking over its gate space in Terminal B? https://www.routesonline.com/news/38/airlineroute/286683/norwegian-barcelona-rome-...

BA is 2 x daily EWR-LHR. VS is 1. Is BA x2? I only saw one flight, but I only did a quick check of flightaware... Either way, it shows EWR as a decent-sized spoke able to hold its own against JFK gravity. BA 184 and BA 188, EWR-LHR. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Did British Airways use to fly ...

Re: Why did AA choose ORD as its TPAC Gateway instead of DFW?

What about JFK. Why doesn’t AA use JFK more as a TATL hub. AA's international route network (TATL and TPAC) is a hot mess IMHO. Not as well defined, structured, or connected as DL or UA's network. A big part of AA's problem is trying to make main gateways at airports that simply do not have the oper...
