Well heard from my Chicago peeps United wasted no time today by close of business it sent the CDA a letter of expressed interest about the available gates and office space at MDW. Re: WN to Launch IAH and ORD service in 2021

My guess for routes out of ORD:
BWI, MCO, TPA, RSW, DEN, LAS with 1-2 flights a day to each.

This announcement surprised the hell out of me. Never thought I'd see the day but it is 2020 after all...

Re: Reuters: Boeing considering 757-Plus and 767-X

Ive long thought and hoped boeing would wake up and revitalize the 757 platform. It has the height for new engines, works on short runway airports and has great range / capacity compared to the 737 and A321. I really hope they go through with this. Could be exactly what they need. It was a mistake t...

I dont know why the city would ever want to close MDW. Its being expanded and serves its role perfectly. If they extend the A and B concourses they could add even more gates for WN to use. And its close to downtown with a rail link. I personally hope it never closes. 100% agree peotone would be a wa...

I dont think WN can get A320/321s until the mid-late 2020s. That means in short term theyd need to order 220s or aquire an Airbus only airline. Like NK, F9 or B6. Who knows what they'll do.

757 replacement :o ! This is what I was thinking. Now would be the time to clean sheet a 757- sized aircraft that could be base model 752 size, shrinkable to cover the 737 and stretchable to cover 753/763, with the ground clearance for larger engines and engine upgrades in the future like the A32x ...

Id agree that if its not way down the road, it should be. CRM and 2 pilot crews are a major advantage to safety and decision making. Why would airbus or boeing remove that from the cockpit. Good for UA. I love the 757 but this shouldve happened years ago. IIRC UA couldnt get a good deal on the A321 because of the deal AA brokered for theirs. Wonder what UA is paying.
