Hello all, I read a lot… probably too much, but there doesn’t seem to be a consensus on the internet when it comes to what Boeing will do next in terms of developing its next commercial aircraft . What does everyone on here think Boeing does next? The consensus appears to be along the lines of a wi...

Updated: Reuters: Airbus launches A350 freighter

Why does everybody keep talking about MTOW? ..... Who knows... no me. I just know that 109T is nowhere near achievable with current A350 weights and limits, so they're going to have to do something rather involved to it. Interesting considerations, agree 109t payload sounds ambitious! I don't have ...

Re: Updated: Reuters: Airbus launches A350 freighter

Why does everybody keep talking about MTOW? MTOW in a freighter only dictates range, which is not a really critical parameter for cargo ops, at least not as much as for pax ops. The figures that dictate max payload are OEW and MZFW, and those are the most important parameters for a freighter. MLW i...

I don’t think a 787-10 that flies 7,500nm is possible. Why ? The current longest flight operated by a Boeing 787-10 is Taiwan, Taipei to France, Paris—CDG on Eva Air Flight BR-87 and it comes in at 9,805 km (6,093 mi; 5,294 nmi) Doing an Extra 1,500mi to reach 7,500mi,,, doesn't seem like THAT MUCH...

So, the engine is so good that it will overcome the weight deficiency of +30t OEW ~20%. I sure hope you are right, as it would be a revolution on it’s own. Until now all indications are showing that the 787-9 and A350-900 are the better choice… That is not how it works. Look at the 787-10 Vs A350-9...

Re: 777X – VLA of the Future or another “White Elephant” A380

I’m not arguing with that logic though. I am saying it could have higher spec range with 426 pax depending on how much weight boeing ascribes to 426 pax. If we use airbus calculations of 95KG we see a higher spec range and standard capacity for other aircraft. I’m not arguing with you on that logic...

No. At 426 it goes 7700NM according to airbus numbers and according to airbus’ numbers of 95 per passenger the 300ER at 426 passengers would go 7500NM which seems wrong going off Boeings numbed that the aircraft will go 396 passengers at 13,600 If you scale it down to Boeings standard config of 396...

The only reason a 747 or MD-11 or any other cargo aircraft has ended up on it's arse is because some dufus didn't follow the correct process in loading or unloading, the door location was irrelevant. Unfortunately dufus’s (dufi?) still exist and still work for airlines and will in the future. Makin...
