Re: DL making media noise about purchasing 737MAX, again.

If there's any interest on DL's part, then I would say it's more a negotiating tactic to keep Airbus honest. Push comes to shove, then the MAX becomes more of a possibility, but not without an MRO agreement from CFM. DL agreed to 100 options, which have a price attached to them - and I'm certain th...

Re: DL making media noise about purchasing 737MAX, again.

Here we go again... No, DL isn't "making media noise" about the 737 MAX. During a webinar engaged with the pilots, Bastian was asked about a potential MAX order and gave the same response gives every single time: 'we're constantly talking to Boeing.' Again... it's the same response every s...

Re: Long Beach (LGB) increasing number of air carrier slots

I doubt NK and F9 are interested in LGB. Current fares for both carriers are low from SNA -- if I wanted to fly SNA-LAS, I use to pay a premium over LAX, but now fares are generally lower (even lower than NK's fares from LAX). Alas, I don't see much interest in LGB slots status quo, unless WN wants ...

Yes, well, while I would love everyone to be vaccinated… it’s also going to devastate the industry and those of us who work in it. Airlines are barely scraping by as is, banning 45% of the US from flying isn’t going to help. And as I’ve said time and again - it’s the vaccinated folks who are still ...

Average age of pilot group being 50 has no bearing on how long they've been with DL. Also, the people who took voluntary buyouts had over 20 years on average with DL; meaning they started to "get up there in age", and their buyouts were most likely quite substantial as well: someone with ...

They were never going to merge. UA wasn’t giving up the name and HQ. That's not how businesses operate. UA had a fiduciary responsibility to its shareholders. Entering 2008, UA had shaky finances, and industry pundits were speculating a second bankruptcy. DL was seeking a "merger" partner...

I can’t imagine SGU attracting many tourists. There’s a very limited number of cars available for rent, and pre-COVID it was common for them to be sold out. SGU has been smashing passenger records, but it’s mostly people leaving the area. I’m sure a good number work for Sky West.

G4, SY, WN, and maybe a couple others are my guesses. Revenue is coming in at lower end of guidance, but fuel prices are also coming in below guidance so there is a bit of an offset there.
