Re: Delta 321 neo status

Could it also be possible some of these orders for the A321N could be converted to a223s given that demand will not be so high for the next few years?

Potential higher demand for first class seats post Covid-19?

I know it might sound incredibly far fetched, but here me out: 1. Airlines (barring legislation that requires this to happen) are most likely not going to increase legroom in aircraft. In turn, more people would be trying to get a first class seat as they want to be surrounded by less people. My fat...

Re: Delta plans to emerge a "smaller" carrier

This doom and gloom and panic and sky is falling is overblown and not proportional to reality. Once a vaccine comes out in a few months, businesses will re open and new opportunities will arise. Quick history lesson: The quickest vaccine ever to be developed was the mumps vaccine. Development time:...

Re: Delta plans to emerge a "smaller" carrier

The biggest weakness in DL is its relatively heavy reliance on partners. KE/VS/AF/KL/AZ will all come out of this a different airline - will they become a liability for DL? If DL plays its cards right, they might see this as an opportunity to position itself to capture more of AA's market since AA ...

Re: Delta plans to emerge a "smaller" carrier

I don’t think they’ll dehub BOS. Unless AA trims back JFK to hub flying +LHR MAD and other one world hubs, which would enable DL to grow more in JFK, BOS will stay (though service will be reduced). If anything, I think AA’s BOS ambitions will be diminished.

Re: When will Delta add new International routes from ATL

The problem with Delta is that flying to places like Athens from Atlanta on 767 or 330 is very bad from a financial perspective. The flights have to be very weight restricted etc.. That's one of the reasons ATL - ATH did not last. The reason American is so successful with ORD - ATH is the 787. With...

Re: LYS traffic grew +6,4% in 2019

What is so special about Lyon? Am I missing something here? Other European airports such as Athens, Tegel and Düsseldorf reported larger growth. Might be wrong but Lyon is the second largest city in France. If I remember correctly, shortly after the DL-AF joint venture was approved DL started JFK-L...

Also, this year, they just launched LHR-TLV, Relaunched LHR-BOM, ordered A339, purchased Flybe, and Announced LHR-GRU. I wouldn’t necessarily say VS is a shadow of its former self.

Re: Nashville Aviation Thread - 2020

In response to 1675’s prediction on mainline to LGA, I hope that becomes a reality. Since I go to college not far from Nashville, I fly back home using LGA whenever I’m on break, and while I like flying the E175, I would prefer a mainline jet because on mainline you can use streaming apps such as Ne...

Re: OAG Changes 12/8/2019: AA Drops COR;EW Builds DUS (?)

I don’t disagree. If we have a deep recession SEA and BOS are at risk. OTOH, we may have a shallow recession. When I look at their moves, it just seems to be an airline that can't wait to get on with its next exciting project. The latest being Latam. We will see how it works out. They are going to ...

Advice for upcoming flight LGA-BNA on Skywest on Monday December 2nd, 2019

So, my flight is on Monday from LGA-BNA on Skywest. But delta just issued a weather advisory for the northeast. Should i try and change my flight to mainline with a layover in ATL?

I must give credit to AA. They have been using DFW well. They have flights to East Asia, Australia, South America, Europe, soon to be Middle East, and one day, Africa.

Re: Chief Engineer: Ethiopian Airlines Went Into Records After 737 MAX Crash

While I still believe Boeing does hold accountability for this crash and that of JT610, not only does this revelation make one wonder whether the MAX grounding was necessary, but also what the work culture at Lion Air is like.

Re: Minor Delta TATL improves

It seems like DL is trying to eliminate much of their 757 flying TATL as much as possible. I believe the only TATL routes with a 757 are JFK-GLA/EDI/KEF/SNN, BOS-EDI, MSP-KEF? BOS-LIS & BOS-LGW will also be flown with the 757s. You’re right, I forgot about to mention those as well as BOS-MAN.

Yeah and I was noting that they DL seems to be limiting the 75S ops to transcon and the TATL routes I mentioned.

Delta Makes Changes to 757 TATL Routes

Probably not big enough to warrant a thread, but interesting nonetheless. Per DL’s website Beginning 3/28/2020, JFK-LIS upguaged to a 763. And as I previously mentioned in the Boston thread, BOS-LIS is upgraded from domestic 757 to International 757. I am assuming that the intl 757 on the box route ...

My DL BOS-DUB flight changed this weekend to an A330-300. Looks like the flight is upgauged to the A333 as of April 3rd. Quite the increase in seats, it must be doing well. It was a 757 for two seasons followed by a 763 for the 2019 season Great catch and good for you. Yeah that’s a huge increase. ...
