Re: New order for 24 B757 to be converted to 757F - customer?

Question: Could Aer Lingus be a possibility? They operated 757’s with a mixture of engines including RB-211’s. With the recent deliveries of A321Neo’s, this would be a great way to offload the aircraft and make money off the deal. IIRC the Aer Lingus 757s were PW and one of them has already been sc...

Any news on CX JL KE or HU? Hopefully some will return to BOS

Pretty sure KE is slated to come back in August. JL has been running cargo flights, but I don't know anything about passenger service returning. I'm betting they will return.

Re: Boston Aviation Thread - 2020

Looks like they're replacing the service that would have gone to Boston with giving SFO and ORD additional frequencies.

Re: Boston Aviation Thread - 2019

I dont know if this is right, but I pretended to book a British Airway's flight from July 8th to July 15th and it is showing their First class as $264 one way, and it charged me 700 dollars if I did roundtrip in First class. Whereas, in coach its almost $1400. Either BA is having a glitch or there ...

Re: DL’s BOS Hub

This is definitely not true. While maybe not an enormous number, there is definitely a good portion of passengers who connect from DL to the various international carriers I certainly don't doubt they exist, but I would be curious to know the percentage connecting onto JV carriers vs connecting ont...

Re: DL’s BOS Hub

Regardless, there's probably not much in the way of connections between DL and the others in the JV out of Boston, most connections DL does out of Boston are all their own metal or with WS, who also operate out of A. This is definitely not true. While maybe not an enormous number, there is definite...

Re: DL’s BOS Hub

Are A and E not connected behind security? That's pretty suboptimal for those connecting from Delta on to AF, AZ, VS, and KL codeshares. No, they aren't, although there are long term plans to have everything connected post security. This would require going through all the terminals if you wanted t...

I thought they had an airside train??

They do, but it's currently undergoing repairs/maintenance. Apparently it's an oddity among people-mover trains, and so the parts are harder to come by and it's taking longer than expected.

Re: Boston Aviation Thread - 2019

Hey all,

In the original American pier of terminal B, there was a nice retro neon sign hanging above the waiting area at the end of the pier. Now that American has moved out of the pier, does anyone know what's going to happen to it? Is it already gone? It'd be a shame to lose it.

Re: Austrian to start VIE-BOS

Could it be that they struggled with gate space in BOS? The flight leaves some three hours after their last North American destination. Connections going there are not great. If it was because of gate space, it's odd that they pushed the flight to a later time. E tends to be not very busy in the mo...

Re: Boston Aviation Thread - 2019

Also are there better train connections in HND to all of Japan (think Schiphol/AMS and direct to Brussels)?. There's no station for the Shinkansen there, but it is connected to the rest of the Japan rail system via monorail and one other train line. So it is more accessible to the rest of Japan via...

Re: Boston Aviation Thread - 2019

I didn't take his comment as a rumor. More like a prediction since the A350 (and 787) will become the predominant long haul aircraft just about everywhere. Absolutely ... loving the onslaught of the 787s so far ... please bring some A350s too! :P Just flew BOS-MAD-BOS on DY ... first time on the 78...
