Re: Virgin Atlantic News and Discussion - 2023

Not sure why the planned ICN flights would matter to the US network. Far cheaper and quicker to go between Seoul-USA direct over the pacific using Korean Air / Delta. Because the OZ slots that Virgin would allegedly get at LHR mean that the aircraft they use for the flight would have to sit overnig...

Re: Virgin Atlantic News and Discussion - 2023

Any idea what VS is going to do with the slot pair they're currently using for Pakistan flights ? I see VS flights to Pakistan leave at 10:20pm and arrive back at 6:00pm into Heathrow (LHE 4x/week and ISB 3x/week). These times don't work for TATL, unless they do some creative shuffling with their c...

Re: Virgin Atlantic News and Discussion - 2023

It would be after the merger. So the new combined KE/OZ will cut a flight and give the slots to VS to operate the route. I believe KE and OZ both fly to LHR 1x daily so after this remedy KE/OZ will continue to fly to LHR 1x daily in competition against a daily VS flight. The problem with the OZ slo...

Re: Virgin Atlantic to launch LHR-ICN

I do wonder about how viable all of this is, and whether it is just to make it look like the CMA is doing something. 1. What slots will be available at LHR? If it is the OZ ones it will mean VS will need to overnight an aircraft in ICN which is a hugely inefficient use of an aircraft. 2. I assume if...

Does anyone know if there are any plans to re-time the Haneda flights? It is being boosted to double daily (on some days) but both flights are morning / early afternoon departures in both directions. With the longer flight times due to avoiding Russian airspace, wouldn’t an evening departure from LH...

TK will be redesigning some of its IST hub waves in 2023. 787 and non-Turkoflot J seats are more stylish and private but a lot less spacious, especially on the leg area. Extension tubes are a good option. I use Kenko ones and they work well. What you may find though is it makes the depth of field extremely shallow, so depending on the type of photo you want to take you may end up having to focus stack to get the whole photo sharp.
