At Logan, can a passenger stay in the secure area to connect between Terminals B and C (Alaska and jetBlue)? If not, how is the connection (walkways or take a bus?) in the non-screened area? When I fly out of Boston it is almost always with Delta so I rarely see these terminals. ThanksJump to post
Curious to hear what everyone thinks about when the final 757 flights in the US will occur. Of course you can categorize this topic in many different ways. I'd like to consider everything: Domestic passenger service within the US (like Delta and United) International flights to the US by a foreign a...Jump to post

And yes, I agree that the true 747 experience is to fly both Economy and the Upper Deck! After all, the 747 did make long-haul air travel more affordable, while at the same time having a unique premium experience with the intimacy of the upper deck, once famous for its bar(s) and lounge(s). Exactly...Jump to post
Wow! What an amazing and incredibly fun trip report. I've yet to fly on the 747 and A340, but hopefully I'll be able to do it soon. PS, I can definitely recommend the Upper Deck. No, I haven't flown on a 747, but I have been on the UD on N661US at ATL and it's amazing. It feels very intimate and pr...Jump to post
Thank for the report. Good you got the chance to score a 747 and a A340 on the same trip. Yeah, honestly it sure was "convenient" to have both serving Boston. If I had to start my trip at IAD and end at Boston, or even another airport, I would, but fortunately Boston gets both at the mome...Jump to post
Thanks for the trip report! I tried so hard to book the 744 and a346 via FRA and MUC on my flights to and from the UK a month ago just for the novelty but man Lufthansa fares always seem to be so high, I just couldn't justify paying 2-3x the cost. I hope to have another chance before the 744 and a3...Jump to post
Hey, time travel is real I guess. That's pretty cool.Jump to post
I agree that the Frontier seats are horrible. I'm 6'4" so I will avoid Frontier. I did get to fly two of their NEOs which were only a few weeks old. Too quiet for me! I need more groan and thunder!!!Jump to post
You may have seen my thread asking for tips on this trip - well I made it happen! I'm on the younger side and I don't come from an aviation family, so although I may have flown the 747 or A340 to Europe as a kid, I don't remember and there's no evidence remaining. Prior to COVID, I started to think ...Jump to post

What is a second passport check? Passport getting checked at check-in, security and at the gate has been a thing for as far as I can remember. If you want ridiculous though, go to YVR where security will check your boarding pass no less than 5 times going through security. The best is they check it...Jump to post

I do not believe that LH Group makes such available anymore (for any of its airlines). Your closest choice (that I am aware of) is FR24 - https://www.flightradar24.com/data/airlines/lh-dlh/fleet - you can see history and short-term future assignments per aircraft. Can anybody tell me where the 744s...Jump to post
BOS-SFO: 3x daily all A321neo vs. 2x daily now Looks like United is going back to B752 on BOS-SFO to compete with the 321neo too Awesome! Thanks for the info. One of my favorite things about the 747 is that you never seem to be going fast enough to takeoff, and then it magically lifts up into the air. Make sure you watch the wing flex during takeoff. Just be aware it can be a little loud in that aft zone. Enjoy your trip! This trip report was from seat 4...Jump to post
Ok guys, I booked some flights! I will fly BOS-FRA on the 744, then to MUC that same day on an A320, then MUC to BOS on an A346. I am in 50K on the 744, 27A on the A320 and 57A on the A346. Seatguru says nothing bad about these seats, but if anyone has flown in these seats please let me know! It wou...Jump to post

Gosh, that's exciting. I agree on the upholstery, that looks like an exact match. But how'd you make the call on it being a 727 instead of something else? Are those windows really that unique? That interior was only on ships 501-546 727s at Delta. The orange armrest was the dead giveaway. Other 727...Jump to post

Hey everyone, these are photos from 1996 on MCO-BOS, PBI-BOS or MLB-BOS (if that existed). Maybe a 727 or a classic 737? What airline?
1. Get there safe
2. Hopefully a cool plane type
2.5 Get there without a big delay
3. Window seat
4. A respectful seat mate
5. Daytime flight for views
And, getting to visit the cockpit and the pilots makes a bad flight the best flight for years to come.
There is direct train service from FRA to Munchen. Look at schedules and prices on http://www.bahn.com. I have never flown an A340 or any 747 variant and it seems like this summer is probably the last chance to fly the A346 and 744. I have really wanted to fly the A340-600 and 747-400 and fortunately my home airport of Boston has daily flights on both, which is convenient. I have a lot going on in my ...Jump to post
My flight was delayed 12 hours to SLC and I had checked bags and a connecting flight, which was missed and I had to wait until the following day for that flight. On DLs A220s, in 4A you can feel it reverberate in your chest and it's to the point it hurts your ears. However, it is a great plane once in the air, but taxiing is actually to the point of annoyance. Agreed. I have only flown one A220, a 300 on B6. It isn't a cool sound, like a Mad Dog or a 757, i...Jump to post
Will the 764 fleet become more focused on domestic routes as the A339s and A350s take over international routes? My understanding is that the 764 was originally ordered to do a lot of domestic flying anyway, to replace the L1011. No, the goal will be to keep the 764 on international routes for as l...Jump to post
Based out of Boston for transcon routes means little to no 757s in the near future. Not looking forward to that! Agreed. It's my main airport and I'm always giddy to fly one from Boston. United has one flight a day on the 757 to SFO and Icelandair often uses the 767, maybe a 757 depending on the se...Jump to post
Shortest mainline: EWR to BDL on a UA 737-700 - 141 miles. The pilots told us the total time in the air before we departed and I timed it. They were right on target to the minute.
Longest regional: BDL to MSP on a CRJ-900 (Endeavor/Delta Connection) - 1050 miles
It has to do with the very short flights and turn arounds, one of the 1st tier reads indicated, some were as short at 8 min flight, then a 10 -12 minute turn, outside of HNL many of the airports are small 12 gate affairs so very short taxi times. So it is climb/cruise for 5 min, descent & land ...Jump to post
I've often seen the comments on here that the 717s at Hawaiian Airlines serve an important role and that other aircraft may struggle with the quick turns as hoppers. I've seen some brief discussion on the engines - the newer engines (NEO/MAX) require longer warm up or cool down times. I don't really...Jump to post

I have a question for anyone familiar with BDL. I'm flying a STL-BNA-BDL-BNA-STL day trip in Feb with a 2.5 hour wait in BDL before the return.
