Re: Windshear on A343 take off scare at Zurich

That call to ATC saying they got tailwind on rotation seems to me like 'yeah that happened because of this'. Most likely to save face because from an outside point of view that looked at most odd. For airbus drivers you do get wind data before rotation? if so, can you delay rotation a bit because of...

Having a hard time believing that after many years, so many hours the 787 will experience this just because some screens went black.

There's got to be more to this.

The prelim mostly discards a double bird strike, or fuel starvation as cause for loss of power.
Lots of wild speculation going on pointing to engine shutdown.

Re: Plane Crash on I-75 in Naples, Florida

On the ATC audio, the pilot (who was very calm) had a chance to declare an emergency or at least say engine failure due to birds. If it was birds, they lost power and weren't sure it was the birds, or the pilots probably had an idea why engine power was lost and was not due to birds.

The 340-300 always gets a bad rap. But airlines saved lots of money since the same engine is the similar engine that the A320 family used. The engine was very accessible, reliable and cost efficient in term of maintenance costs. Not an Airbus tech, or junkie but based on what's publicly available, t...

Been reading the statement and in it doesn't mention any specifics as to the 737-9 and the doorplug. The Max 8 doesnt have the door plug. There may be a zillion quality issues with every 737 structure regardless of type waiting to be found, or even on the 787/777, but you can only ground for specific reasons which are only evident on the Max9 with the door plug so far. The statement from the FAA d...

The grounding is not a big deal, because is just till they check the planes one by one, then they can fly back. Is not a definite grounding.

What I am curious is, if there is a major design or structural flaw that caused this, this would not be resolved just by quickly checking.

Even if this new president does this, there is a huge chance the next leftist government revives AR or makes another one.
