They dont need one tbh. DL is more than capable of flying directly TPAC out of ATL for example. They only need SEA as a hub to offer connecting passengers a bit more options and its doing a fine job atm. Also in this day and age it makes much economical sense to go point-to-point all the way

I agree, but here in the SE Asia most people in Indonesia or Malaysia would rather fly EK, QR than the Europeans or their own National carriers .... 2. KL's point of sale is mostly Europe/North America (higher yields), so the airline is less dependent on the airline preference of SE Asian customers...

These socalled ABC Islands are technically part of the Netherlands. Everyone who reside there have the Dutch nationality and make up a significant portion of pax traffic. So it can be considered domestic travel for KL, a homefield advantage but its still overseas.

Probably because of repositioning. Because of the flight restrictions, lots of KL flights are cancelled over the past week and are now being repositioned as an empty outbound to return as full commercial for the inbound back to AMS

I hope they are not restricting any more flights. Its already capped well into 2023. If they continue this longer, AMS as an international European hub will be at risk. DL already did a week long ops audit not long ago. Could be a sign they are reconsidering their postion here
