I would say Detroit will be on a short list of US destinations. They were one of the only WOW destinations left towards the end. that would be awesome. DTWs TATL service is either nonexistent, very expensive DAL/skyteam monopoly, or multi connection thru star / oneworld hubs. a LCC across the pond ...

N1 creeping up in climb 737NG

Hi everyone, I have a question that came to mind from flying the PMDG 737NGX in FSX and comparing it to Aerosoft airbus X. Re: Can all jetliners take off at a climb thrust setting if they are lightly loaded?

I was on 4 737NG flights in the last year, and every one, climb thrust was higher than takeoff thrust. All 4 flights took off from close to sea level airports at moderate to warm temps (DTW, MDW, RSW and BWI, all no hotter than 90F) so no concern for pressure altitude or temp adjustments I was surpr...

I can’t remember where I saw this in print, but the height also needs to account for a collapse of the nose gear of an aircraft while taxiing underneath. Any aircraft whose tail exceeds the height of the bridge in the event of a collapse will not be allowed to taxi underneath. The odds of it happen...

737 overhead is an absolute disaster. End result of airlines mandating the same type rating despite 40+ years of advancements in technology. Hell, i think the only things that are different between the jurassic and max on the overhead is replacing electrical steam gauges with a display, and the beze...

alot of nose gears have a positive caster by design to improve straight line handling and promote self centering. Its same as the positive caster built into the front suspension in your car, it forces the wheel to self center and track straight. If it had a negative caster, the wheel would try to go...

my last 4 flights in the US, only on arrival into MDW was there a resemblance of a 250 speed limit under 10,000. 757. some planes have better thrust to weight, but nothing is as lively as a 757. Power off of any runway one can find, plenty of climb performance, and with RB211s, that incredible sound. A319 and 73G can overpower a 752, but they cant recreate the 757 magic
