Re: Australian Aviation Thread - January 2023

Pre-flight COVID testing required for arrivals from China from January 5. This also includes arrivals from Hong Kong & Macau. https://www.theage.com.au/national/covid-test-to-be-required-for-chinese-travellers-20230101-p5c9q0.html Hopefully this is just a knee jerk reaction, and quickly gets re...

Re: Permanent "oversharpened" rejections

It would be nice to see some consistency from the screeners on this site. The number of 'over sharpened' rejections by myself and many other photographers seems to be a wide spread issue. As mentioned above images compressed to 1200 px etc will also cause issues. I was also told be a screener today ...

Image taken from airliners and used on LinkedIn without permission

To the owners of airliners, I have a question what safety net is in place with regard to images being used for proprietary use taken from airliners and used on LinkedIn or any site for that matter without permission? I have had this happen just recently and the company is yet to acknowledge their mi...

Gueez, It funny reading some of the posts on here regarding QANTAS and how bad it is. Ive done lots of domestic lately, Canberra, Adelaide, Sydney, Launceston, Brisbane as examples flying REX, VA, JQ and QF. Flights are full on QF, VA and JQ not on REX. All were delayed in someway, all had excessive...

I'm sure we've all had photos rejected for "editing halos". Well here's one, in the DB, that clearly has halos. https://www.airliners.net/photo/Alaska-Airlines/Boeing-737-990-ER/6759203?qsp=eJwljU0OwiAQhe/y1iystUbZ6QV04QUmMKkkCGQYE5umdxdx9/7yvRUuJ%2BWPPpbCsKhM4p4wKCT0qrBrG7yTygI7DZOB8Bxyg...

low contrast/ underexposed rejections

I'm getting very frustrated by screeners on this site. Every rejection I get is either underexposed or low contrast. I look at what gets uploaded on this site every day and the number of photos that get excepted for what I would call underexposed or low contract is very high. It also seems that if y...

FIDAE 2022

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has any details on aircraft and air arms who are attending the FIDAE Airshow in April his year?

The website lists nothing currently which is sad.

Hope some of you might have some details.

Have heard that one of the QANTAS A380s is hoping to be preserved at Albion Park with HARS. So maybe OQA might find a home there and be used as a christmas tree?

To the screeners, Can I have some help, please? Why would two images I have uploaded have been deprioritised? One there is no image in the database for the second has had a revised livery since its arrival. Seems very odd to see this done when both are not in the database, it could be looked upon th...

One word answer rejections

Screeners,

Finding it very hard to improve uploading pictures on here when the feedback received is one word answers.

Colour or Double means absolutely nothing to me.

I've had another rejection today and after appeal it was still knocked back for two different reasons.

How can this be?

I find it very interesting that so many people discount Boeing for the MAX and next to no talk about the Alliance factor. Boeing will be looking to make up for the loss of the A350 order so expect a big discount and also the MAX getting a big and respected airline like QANTAS ordering it will make Boeing very competitive. Also add the crew and maintenance training costs of Boeing to Boeing, will swing in its favour. Ye...
