Re: Turkish Aviation July 2020

Has little to do with the Dutch government: the EU still has a travel ban for non-essential travel to Turkey. Package holidays hardly qualify as essential travel. This is purely based on protectionism. They know the EU tourism sector would be hit hard if they labeled Turkey as a safe country....

Re: Turkish Aviation July 2020

Bad news for Corendon. They announced holiday flights to Turkey on july 10 but the dutch goverment slammed them so Corendon pulled it untill july 22th. The dutch goverment is strictly against letting people in from Turkey so people are hesitant to go. Its unfair as other Turkish companies fly to Am...

Re: Turkish Aviation June 2020

TK starting flights to Tehran on July, 16th. I don’t understand why they are rushing to fly to countries that are hit really hard by the virus.

Re: Turkish Aviation June 2020

It worries me that the daily infections is rising in Turkey again. Lowest daily infection was between 800 - 900 people, IIRC. Now it is around the 1400. I really hope that the daily infection rate goes down again, otherwise this will not be a good thing for Turkey, the Turkish airlines, the Turkish ...

TK adjusting the closure time for check-in. Domestic goes up to 60 minutes before departure time, while check-in desks close 75 minutes before DPT for international flights.

Re: Turkish Aviation June 2020

European Union and Schengenzone opening inner borders on 15 june, outer borders opening 1st of July. Seems TK have to wait a little longer to operate flights to the EU and Schengenzone. I wonder if there are flights allowed with EU/Schengenzone passengers from non-EU/SZ countries or if complete flig...

Re: Turkish Aviation May 2020

I know that a lot of passengers are connecting through Istanbul to Adana, Kayseri, Konya, Ankara and Elazig. Especially on the late-evening flight TK1956 there is a lot of domestic transfers. These routes will be operated until mid September. I wonder if these routes will be returning in S21... What...

Re: Turkish Aviation May 2020

Everyday I’m reading news about airlines who are laying off employees. A couple of months ago, the TK chairman said that they were not going to lay off employees. Are they still planning to keep all their employees? I mean it would be strange to see if TK was the only airline who is not laying off e...

Re: Turkish Aviation May 2020

I really hope TK and PC can get to their old schedule before the pandemic started. But I highly doubt this will be realized these coming months... I really hope I’m wrong.

Re: Turkish Aviation April 2020

I just wanted to say thanks for keeping up the great work here at A.net. These certainly are trying times and I hope - and think - that things will begin to get back to normal during the summer and hopefully recover during late Q3 and Q4. I hope so too... But I really believe that’s just wishful th...

Re: Turkish Aviation March 2020

If true, this is a huge blow to TK. Even if this pandemic ends with fewer deaths (hopefully), I doubt they can go back to the way things were quickly. Long recovery period awaits. I really hope it won’t take TK a long time to get back to their track. And I hope that passengers will be confident eno...

Re: Turkish Aviation March 2020

How big will this impact from the corona virus be? Do you think the Turkish aviation market will recover quick? Or do you think it will take some time. I was pretty surprised that TK was able to recover really fast after disaster year 2016.

Six cases in Turkey? That seems pretty low, could it be that the government, like in many other places, is trying to hide the real number? In many countries they test small numbers of patients so the number of actual patients is also low.

But why would they do that though?

Re: Turkish Aviation March 2020

This virus epidemic has affected PC badly. I am in the middle of cabin crew selections but the final rounds have been postponed because of this. Other active crew members are being offered leave without pay. So I decided to return home untill they call me back for the final interview and flew on PC...

Re: Turkish Aviation March 2020

A little bit off topic. But, FlyBe went into administration. I wonder what is going to happen to their precious slot times at AMS. I know TK wants to open a 5th daily flight to AMS, however that is not possible due to slot restrictions. I’ve also heard they want to resume ESB - AMS, which is also no...
