London? Geez, who cares.

nvm. Rant deleted. It was a good one but I'd just be considered a disgruntled employee instead of a realist. Guilty as charged on both counts.

Yeah, posting here was a mistake. No attempt to engage the apparently uncontroversial central idea - experienced pilots are preferable to non-pilots - just personal attacks. Congrats, you pushed me out of the conversation. Talk amongst yourselves.

JetBlue lost about 60 pilots to other airlines this past year, less than 2% attrition, and contrary to popular opinion, there's no shortage of qualified pilots at this level. Regional airlines are hurting maybe, but JetBlue is still a major airline and attracts far more experienced pilots from those...

There's another possible explanation. The Earth's magnetic field isn't static, it drifts. VOR radials are referenced to magnetic north to make navigation easier, but it'...

RE: JFK 31L Taxi Patterns

Sometimes they'll depart from both 13L and 13R while landing on 13L and 22L. But in order to depart on 13L, there has to be a gap in landing traffic, for both runways, plus a gap in departing traffic on 13R so it doesn't happen often when it's busy. Mostly they'll just stack up departures for 13R an...

They typically feed 31L from taxiway Z. When the line gets long, they often wrap it from Z to Y to F to 22R, making a kind of hook shape. When the line on 22R gets all the way back to H or J, they'll often open another line on 22L. The line on F gets split, some taking the right turn at Y and others...
