Someone put on one of the Hughes Airwest adds but my favorite was when the sung the city's they flew to by name
Also, how can you beat all those sexy views of an amazing paint job on a DC-9

I have had bad luck with Delta at MSP when 3 sub 40-minute connections from XXX to MSP to SLC went bad. I stopped booking them, though I did get a fair amount of vouchers for future use. The problem is the barbie jets get in a long way from the flights to SLC. Never again.Jump to post
SLC will be a really nice airport when complete. I’m always fascinated by the planning and execution of building a new terminal (and more in this case) on top of an existing, operational airport. Yes, it’s inconvenient for a few years, but it’s a fantastic feat. The thing about this project is that...Jump to post
The last time I paid money to fly domestic first (Delta Las Vegas to Atlanta) I was kicking myself. I was working all day in Vegas and had to work the next day at Virginia Tech, so I wanted some sleep on the flight. Sadly my crystal ball did not show me that the 757 was only going to have about 25 p...Jump to post
Where will the light rail train station be at the new terminal, or will it still be where it is and people need to walk over to the new terminal? I was just thinking that when I got back to SLC yesterday, after taking my last MD-90 flight. I looked it up and Utah transit has a budget of 18.2 Millio...Jump to post
My guess on why so little media, low death total and the word COVID is not in the storyJump to post
Sadly the MD-88s and 90s, as well as the 717, was all that was keeping me loyal to Delta (well that and being in SLC) since I have to fly to the east coast every weekend 6 months per year. Delta is not what it used to be service wise and seems to have lost its way. With these beautiful aircraft gone...Jump to post
I used to love some of the odd-ball routes the CAB assigned airlines back in the regulated era. What are some of the strangest that any of you can remember? I used to enjoy flying some crazy milk runs back in the day. One of my favorites was Seattle to Tucson via Yakima, Pasco, San Francisco, Los An...Jump to post
I had a couple of new pairs of golf pants I was flying with and they set off the scanner 4 trips in a row. I was told that pants that are kind of loose and not tight-fitting create a shadow that confuses the scanner.
Not sure if it is true but that is what two TSA agents told me was the issue.
Well Delta and United have answered my question about what I would have guessed and extended status one extra year. Plus most of us have a bunch of roll over miles on DeltaJump to post
As my screen name implies I worship the MD-90. I was going to ride to El Paso and Syracuse today and tomorrow and from IAH to ATL on my way from SLC the next two days but common sense took over after I paid for the tickets. As much as I want to be on those flights, it would have been selfish to risk...Jump to post
I here that Wednesday, Apr 1st is the last day for the MD-90. That is a bad April fool's joke. Does anyone know where their last flights will be? I am SLC based and don't really want to risk flying now but that might be worth the risk. I love those jets, way too early for the most beautiful jet ever...Jump to post
MD-90s are gone end of day April 1. There will still be ~132 daily MD-88 flights in the new schedule. They are ATL to: BDL (4) BNA (5) CHS (5) CMH (4) DAB (3) GRR (3) HOU (3) IND (4) MCI (4) MEM (5) OMA (3) ORF (4) PHL (5) PIT (4) RDU (5) RIC (4) SAT (4) SRQ (4) STL (4) Couple other things I notice...Jump to post
I like most of us here on this forum have status on one or more airlines. Of course, that will be pretty much wrecked by COVID-19. I know Delta has a reclaim my status program for people who have had major life incidents. I go back and forth between Diamond and Platinum and was at 46,000 miles and w...Jump to post
This thread has me very sad. I had 8 more weeks of flights from SLC out east to work. Almost every week I had an MD-88 or MD-90 in my travel plans. Of course, right now no one is playing tennis so I won't be flying to work but with the pulldown of MD aircraft, I am very sad right now. Compared to th...Jump to post
I really miss YXD (Edmonton City Center and before that Edmonton Municipal, also had a time as Edmonton Industrial) I have lost count of the times I flew from there to Calgary and the approach over downtown Edmonton and then Kingsway garden Mall was fun. Pacific Western would usually have one flight...Jump to post
This is the kind of thread that has had me lurking for years and finally took out an account. Being a person that loves smaller aircraft, several of the city's I have flown to do not have air service anymore. I am guessing many of these routes will never return again unless a much cheaper way of fly...Jump to post
