Re: Houston Aviation Thread - 2020

Updates have came in from Andrew Levy's planned airline. First, the airline has commenced charter air service, which they claimed they'd start over the summer and apparently went through with. Second, they've moved in to their larger corporate offices in Uptown on San Felipe. All information seen fr...

Re: Houston Aviation Thread - 2020

For long haul international, here's a very premature speculation of what will stay and go. I don't think UA will cut any South American cities since most cities are only served through IAH in the network. We will probably lose MUC as Star traffic consolidates to FRA, and AMS will get downgauged due...

Re: Houston Aviation Thread - 2020

What gets me is that people from outside this city are under the false impression that this city solely depends on energy (Houston is not the oil capital of the world, it is the ENERGY capital of the world). This isn’t 1986. Yes, there are routes flown from Houston that will be vulnerable in this e...

Re: Houston Aviation Thread - 2020

Given current oil prices, it may be a few months before demand returns from IAH. 1. That depends on the route, not all routes are oil related. 2. The oil industry isn't the only one down. the entire economy as a whole is. All routes returned will be with expectations of not being the same yet. This...

Re: Houston Aviation Thread - 2020

Looks like Houston is getting snubbed by many of the former int'l carriers that once operated there and yet DFW is seeing several airlines such as Qatar, Qantas, Emirates, JAL scheduling their returns. Sadly, the same is happening here in BOS, with the exception of Emirates, so I guess we are in th...

Re: Houston Aviation Thread - 2020

I’d imagine there’s more available gate space in IAH despite UA squatting in A than in HOU. Slightly ot, but is there any news of Levys venture? Also, any predictions on how Breeze will serve SE Texas? I'm not sure what's the latest you've seen, but the last that has came out in February, where he ...

Re: Houston Aviation Thread - 2020

IAH is gaining two destinations in Mississippi. AA's EAS contract to Meridian and Hattiesburg ended and UA was awarded the renewal. Flights start July 1.

Re: New Zealand Aviation Thread - April 2020

Air NZ sure went through a rapid US expansion last few years. You guys think Newark will be their last near future expansion? With Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Chicago and New York, it seems stable as can be. New York might not happen for some time now. But in terms of future destinations, ...

Re: Houston Aviation Thread - 2020

Do you guys expect Andrew Levy's temporarily named "Houston Air" to be based out of IAH or HOU? I’d imagine there’s more available gate space in IAH despite UA squatting in A than in HOU. Slightly ot, but is there any news of Levys venture? Also, any predictions on how Breeze will serve S...

Re: Caribbean Aviation Thread - 2020

Kind of upset when Bahamasair discontinued Houston and Chicago flights. Was good to see a Caribbean airline gaining momentum in USA. But is makes since since they have no alliance affiliation, which most leisure travelers use.
