B757: Nothing really new here. There is a subset of the oldest 752s that have been through their last and final HMV and will be retired in the next 2-4 years. Beyond that, yes the number of ~50 B752 and the 753s are of a younger generation and could extend into the 2030s if economic conditions make...

When was the exact last date that the Saudi 747-300 flew? I thought it was retired and replaced by the 77W? No? Nov 2019 it was spotted flying over Cardiff, Wales. Then using this information, I don't think it really should be considered on the "active" list anymore... That's from 2 years...

One thing I noticed, compared to other water crashes like Swissair 111, Silkair 185, and Egyptair 990, this plane seemed relatively intact. Probably because it didn't enter the water at high speeds and obliterate into pieces. But still, how come the wreckage removal took basically from the beginning...

I wish the 747-8 was more of a success, but I clearly understand why the -8i variant in particular was a flop.

Some people were mentioning Emirates and the pax variant, but I think that they had about 10 -8Fs on order, cancelling 5 of them, and then cancelling the remaining 5 in late 2012.

I think my teacher in my aerospace class at school told us this story. According to what he said, the pilots didn't even do their checklists correctly (didn't do Controls: Free Movement). He also said he lost a good friend in this accident.
