Interesting how DL cut BOS during a week when B6/AA add their JV-ish adds and UA announces LHR service. By my estimate DL is running roughy 40 to 45 flights a day from BOS, way down from the 150-day hub they had planned. Also very interesting considering how DL seems keen to keep frequency and serv...

Re: Jetblue Network Thread - 2021

I know a lot of the talk right now is about the AA partnership, but I'm curious if B6 plans to add anything else to/from CUN this year. It's rather understated just how much B6 added to CUN last year: CUN-AUS/BNA/BDL/EWR/LAX/RDU/SFO/SMF/TPA all were either started or announced. It'd be kind of cool...

Re: JetBlue Network Thread - 2020

[threeid] [/threeid] An article on JetBlue's move into RDU. https://airlineweekly.com/raleigh-durham-emerges-unlikely-competitive-airline-market-in-pandemic/ Nothing really new there. Looks like they are not ready to declare it a focus city, which would involve opening a crew base. Maybe this is som...

Re: The Rest of New England Aviation Thread (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2020

I wish b6 would re-try btv-mco or try btv-fll. With cold winter weather soon there will always be some people you can convince to get on a plane for warmer weather. With a push to more leisure routes anyway they have planes sitting around. Seems very unlikely i know but they have the planes sitting...

Re: JetBlue Secures Slots For BOS-STN, JFK-LGW

the problem is that LGW slots on initial allocation are not as abundant at this point as we thought. DY is pretending it will need more slots next summer than it requested in 2020, even though it probably won't last 2 or 3 more months. VS can keep holding on to its LGW slots despite closing its ope...

Re: JetBlue Network Thread - 2020

I have noticed that DL dropped routes such as BOS-CMH/IND/MCI/MKE/ORF, LGA-MKE/ORF, and JFK-CVG/CLE/CMH/IND/ORF during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have also noticed that AA has dropped the majority of its non-hub nonstop routes out of LGA and JFK during the COVID-19 pandemic, with LGA-BOS and JFK-CUN/...

Re: JetBlue Network Thread - 2020

I mean, why limit it at 85% capacity? It doesn’t make a difference in the first place but now they can’t even market it as seat blocking. Have you looked at their q3 earnings. Their yield actually had the biggest increase over a year ago. For a long time, they weren’t hitting 70% capacity of many f...

Re: Jetblue's first A220 rolls out

As far as the “first route” of the first one delivered, I’d say if I was in charge I’d put it on a focus city to focus city route for the first month. Why? 1, keeps all the above the wing, below the wing, tech ops - all B6 Crewmembers. So you can make sure you have a core team trained on it. You don...

Re: JetBlue Network Thread - 2020

How does B6 perform on DCA-SJU? I wonder if they would ever cancel the flight and use the slot for LAX. On a personal note, in my perfect world (post Metro opening the Silver Line at Dulles) I really wish B6 would return to IAD and resume some of their transcon routes, but I know that is wishful th...

Pilot CBA says otherwise.

lack of FA CBA says yes

Fair enough. I’ll rephrase it:

EWR/JFK pilot co-base - not currently possible

EWR/JFK inflight co-base - possible

Re: JetBlue Network Thread - 2020

Where would B6 have to reopen now that they've gotten the loan? I don’t think anywhere. Every closure was either part of a blanket exception (airports near other large airports, such as BWI) or part of specific awarded ones (such as ORH). I don’t believe B6 closed anything “extra” on Oct 1, so any ...

Waiting for more details to come out, but looks like JetBlue is taking the loans from CARES act. I assume this is because they can get better rates from the treasury vs in the private market. Who blinks first, or last depending, on not booking the middle seats?? I am of the thought that B6 gives up on the middle seat being blocked soon.... I predict this as well. I’d guess they would go to a % blocked system first. Say they go very conservative at first to avoid backlash - like 70% (I k...

Gov. Baker just slapped quarantine requirements on every traveler except those from the Northeast. That can't be good for TCONs and flights from the south. More July and August cuts coming soon! So Cuomo and tri state have increased quarantine list to 16 states. With these announcements, I'm not too optimistic a...

Looking at the OAG this week, I am surprised by how much Delta is keeping Jfk wide open. Routes like CLE and RDU with 0 flights for August. Big drawdowns across the board. UA and DL are leaving their respective hubs wide open for B6 to gain some marketshare I'm seeing LGA flights get loaded without...

Re: Air Canada Embraer 190 Retired

“The JetBlue E-190s will be 20 years old by the time the first A220 arrives. Seems pretty reasonable to retire high-cycle aircraft at that age, don't you think?”

I believe the first E190 delivery for B6 was in the fall of 2005. First 220 is December 2020. So about 15 years for the oldest, not 20.
