My list is quite simple compared to others:
North America:
USA (home)
Canada (flown over)
Europe:
France
Belgium
Luxembourg (biked and railroaded across the entire country in a matter of hours)
Germany
UK (flown over)
I'll also include flying over the international waters of the North Atlantic
Just today I upgraded my router from a decade-old model to a newer one. Instantly went from about 7 mbps to peaking around 85-ish. Earlier this week I was getting a whopping 1.5 mbps before a network reset. It pays to keep your equipment up to date.
Jump to postAs GalaxyFlyer says, a present-day APU would not provide enough power. But this could conceivably work with a purpose-built "APU" or auxiliary engine that's designed to efficiently provide large amounts of electrical power. If the weight of that engine plus fuel and electric motors isn't t...
Jump to postToo many to have just one, so I like to divide my favorites into categories: Light GA: so many to choose from, but narrows down to Cessna 172 and 182 Turboprop: Dash 8 Bizjet: can't decide between Citation Excel, Global Express, and Gulfstream IV RJ: CRJ-700 Narrowbody: A320 (also gets best-sounding...
Jump to postSurprised that the 737-600 hasn't been mentioned yet. It ended up competing against the larger CRJs and E-Jets but lost out due to its higher operating costs. Airbus did the same thing with the A318. Turns out you don't need a heavier 737 or A320-based airframe to haul around 100 passengers. I'm sur...
Jump to postthe Ukraine the Ukraine It is just "Ukraine". No "the". The Ukraine is a term the Russians in particular came up with, that signifies that Ukraine is just a part of Russia, as opposed to an independent country. https://foreignpolicy.com/2019/10/05/ukraine-name-insult-war-russia-...
Jump to postThe E190 and 195 can get rough in the back for the same reasons as above (longer fuselage). The E-Jet series is also prone to fishtailing.
Without knowing this, my buddy who has a fear of flying once booked a seat in the back of a 190 from BOS to DCA. They hit turbulence and it wasn't a good time.

Jump to postN757AF sitting dormant on Signature's ramp at SWF. While N757AF was initially parked at Signature upon arrival at SWF, these sources suggest that it's now parked in the easternmost corner of the FedEx ramp. Jump to postIt's worth repeating this joke here: A plane lands with maximum brakes and screeches to a halt with just feet to spare. With a sigh of relief, the captain says that was the shortest landing he's ever done. The first officer looks out the window and says "this runway is really short, but it sure...
Jump to postI'm also not the biggest fan of AA's current livery, but I don't completely hate it, either. The tail does say 'American' quite loudly, so in that regard it gets the job done, but it's still odd to me because they don't use that design element in any of their other branding materials. It's ONLY on ...
Jump to postAirports have standing NOTAMs/remarks that will list things such as maximum wingspan, surface weight bearing capacity, whether air carrier aircraft are allowed, and other limitations. airnav.com is a good site for this. We could look to Atlas Air as a possible case study. 5Y is the other 121 airline headquartered in New York (Westchester). It leases space from Morgan Stanley (which itself uses the building as a satellite office). While upper management and most professional jobs remain in NY, Atlas has been increas...
Jump to postBDL and HPN are where my money is. HPN would be an interesting choice. Neeleman would be going directly up against B6, which is the largest airline there. With lowered traffic levels it may not be a problem, but HPN has a limit on how many passengers can go through the terminal per half hour (240)....

Jump to postDelta is due for a refresh. The current design as a whole looks modern enough, but the small "Delta" titles on the front look so 2010-ish (especially on the Airbuses). I'd like to see them use block titles on the existing livery. Delta Connection won't have to be modified at all since bloc...
Jump to postOr used A330s. I can't imagine how they can use 359 range and size profitably out of those markets. I think the aircraft choice is one of the least suspect thing about their business plan and how it will be profitable. Completely agree, used A330’s or 787’s in a 3 class configuration would be a bet...
Jump to postI was actually going to ask the same thing about A*3*20's. Whenever a 320 series jet flies over, the moment it comes into hearing range it sounds like a landing UFO. "Beeeyoooooooo." Engine inlet shape or something? No other airplane does that and it's loud and distinct every time. The so...

Jump to postI understand how the Airbus family has a combined "NAV/LOGO" switch that operates both the nav and logo lights. I would rule out the -200 since they're RR-powered. The -300s on the other hand... they may have a chance, but the MTOW may be a factor. DL's newer builds are 242t models. If DL were ever looking to take on used 330s (not saying they will), I don't think the MTOW would be a deal breaker. They only ...
