Almost 70% of WN’s fleet is in the new colors. Once MAX deliveries resume and 700 retirements start, it should increase rapidly.

Re: How big can SWA get in ATL

It is my understanding that WN is carrying more O&D traffic to/from ATL than FL ever did and at a higher RPM. WN currently has 18 gates on C Concourse whereas FL had 31 gates on C and D, but many of those gates were only used at peak times. WN has been sitting at about 125 flights per day out of...

Re: Questions about the final year of Eastern

The 727-100s never returned after the strike. Two A300s were fitted with about fifty First Class seats towards the very end. I believe all remaining DC-9-30s ended up with 22 First Class seats; 727s and 757s had 24. I don’t remember the number for DC-9-50s. There were actually a few (I think it was ...

A food court was added several years ago but it’s still a big empty space by the escalators. Apparently, everything is on hold pending lawsuits. C is the only Concourse (except for T) without an operating food court.

If WN uses one gate at DFW, It must give up one gate at DAL. If Southwest uses two gates at DFW, it must give up two gates at DAL and so on. So, if I’m understanding correctly, the only way to increase service in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area is for WN to completely walk away from DAL. I don’t think it ...

On the L-1011, at least, the doors were spring-loaded and would still open without electrical power. As a back-up, there was a large crank stowed on board that could be used to manually open the doors. In reality, the doors often failed so you'd just use another one.

Security personnel should enforce current size, weight and quantity restrictions before people get in line for the checkpoint. Result would be less bags to screen.
