Apparently, last evening a B-2 crashed during an “emergency landing”. No injuries reported and damage to the aircraft is unknown.

If I recall correctly some of the upper wing skin surfaces were replaced in the 70’s, already, but yes sheet metal under compression/flexing doesn’t tend to hold up forever. I wouldn’t think it would cost all that much to put new aluminum wing skins on them, we’re not talking about stealth coatings...Jump to post
