Don’t US regulations require international pax to clear C&I at the first landing - whether diversion or not? I didn’t know a gas and go was even allowed. If that’s all that happened (no connections) then I wonder why QF7 backtracked 750 miles from Texas to PHX. Why not just go to larger airport...

Number 3 engine suffered a conpression stall and associated damage. Lots of loud banging and streaks of flame observed just after rotation. Interesting. Saw a United 789 flying in yesterday evening. FR24 told me it was in from LAX. I'm guessing it was the Dodgers charter? I was not aware they were using a new Dreamliner as a sports charter.
Unless my assumption is incorrect?

The visitingphx site says that the old white 727 has flown to MZJ. Sad to see it go, but glad it got to have one last flight. I'd been afraid it would be scrapped on site like the old Honeywell B720.

Yesterday, I saw the Orbital L-1011 was flying yesterday at the same moment that NASA's DC-8 was in the air, probably about a hundred miles from each other.
And now, at this moment, the Samaritan's Purse DC-8 is in the air, probably a Hurricane Matthew relief flight.
