I may need to be in Abu Dhabi for some meetings. EY flies from my home airport, while my hometown airline flies to DXB (and I will need the miles to requalify for elite status).

Is it crazy to consider flying into DXB and then taking a taxi/Uber to Abu Dhabi? Does anyone do that?

I found the opposite.

I was quite surprised to find a USD200 ticket one-way in DL domestic F FLL-ATL. On the other hand, J class on SQ SIN-CGK for instance one way could easily run you USD1,000.
