Would Spirit hire Global Crossing to help with any of their flights while some of their planes are parked?
I know Global Crossing has a few airbus aircraft that would work.
Not an ideal situation, but more planes available would help with potential revenue.
With RIC-BWI starting soon, will LGA-BWI be added in the future? I know Southwest has tried the LGA-BWI route in the past. However, it seems they are going for connectivity with the RIC-BWI route. I would think they’d like to have connectivity to the largest market in the U.S. thru BWI. I flew EWR-B...
Jump to postThere are plenty of people in Ocean and Monmouth counties that will choose ACY over EWR because of the convenience. It’s an easy hour or so drive down the parkway. Parking is easy, security is limited and terminal is nice. It makes for an overall positive experience. However, flights are limited. Sp...
Jump to postLove to see the growth of Spirit at Newark. Now serving over 20 destinations! Pretty impressive network Spirit has carved out for themselves at EWR. EWR-ORD is a route I’m particularly very happy they added as there was previously no (current) low fare option between those two cities. STL, MKE, and ...
Jump to postORF to PHL?!
There is that much demand for that route when it’s only a 4.5 hour drive?
I read an article today that the CEO stated that Frontier makes when it competes with the legacy carriers not the budget carriers. "When we look at our route profitability, we make the most money where we compete with legacies," he said, referring to United (UAL.O), opens new tab, Delta an...
Jump to postSpirit expected to trim flying to MCO, focus on connections through FLL, LAS and elsewhere: https://thepointsguy.com/news/spirit-airlines-connections-florida-las-vegas/ I noticed some cities have gotten very MCO heavy (ie. ACY has 4-5x daily to MCO and only one FLL in the evening which connects to ...
Jump to postF9 is relocating to Terminal B at LGA soon. Interesting. Will make for a better experience. The waiting area around Terminal A gate 1 and 2 is very limited space. Does anyone know how they obtain LGA slots to expand? Are they the former WestJet slots? Slots are not required after 10:00 pm https://w...

I think Spirit has made it clear, DTW isn’t a priority on their list for expansion. If it were, DTW would have BNA, CLT, CHS, on top of all of the routes that ended. I have my eye on SY, fares could be replicated in DTW to what they have at their MSP hub and if it makes SY money and builds a simila...
Jump to postDid you know Polk County, where LAL is located, had the 5th largest county growth in the U.S. from 2022-2023? 788k to 818k residents. An increase of 30K. I’m sure the area has grown every year since 2020. LAL will work. TTN is between PHL and EWR and has been successful for Frontier. People will tr...

Jump to postI put this in the thread about F9 launching SJU-JFK/EWR but it's more apropos here: While not LAX, I think ONT can make a great ULCC hub and id love to see F9 expand there. Yes I know they've added LAX, you can't serve LA without serving LAX as F9 has learned but an ONT hub/base/focus city can do w...
Jump to postIn addition to the 4 new BWI routes, Spirit added: IAH-SJU MSY-SJU CMH-LGA LGA-PIT PIT-LGA at only 1x daily is gonna be a tough sell when the competition is running 4x-6x daily on the same route. I was surprised to see this route added as they serve EWR-PIT. Since it’s only flight a day, I’ve seen ...
Jump to postAny one know how the SWF flights are working?
Would like to see them expand to TPA.
wonder if Harrisburg airport would ever rebrand and add Hershey into its name. HersheyPark is becoming a much bigger attraction/destination and the airport could potentially attract some seasonal flights. Yes, I believe, it’s a heavy drive market destination. However, with the right marketing, fligh...
Jump to postI didn’t know FNT was adding a FIS. Total waste IMO given the buildout and annual operating costs. LAN’s has been considered a bust, FNT will likely see even fewer flights. FNT has something LAN does not have - an Allegiant base. They can easily add flights from their base. I’d expect to see flight...

Jump to postWould Sun Country consider opening a base at MKE? It seems as though they could fill the void of AirTran. Yes, Southwest picked up some routes, but AirTran had a true operation and base at MKE. I flew AirTran back in the day a few times from the east coast and connected in MKE to the West Coast. MKE...
Jump to postNice adds out of LGA. Did they pick up slots there?
Jump to postSpirit adding daily LGA-CHS starting in April. Interesting add. Gives a low fare option into LGA. Over the next year, I hope to see Spirit get really strategic with adding new routes. I would like to see them give Pensacola a try from a NYC area airport. Seasonal, a few times a week. Allegiant has ...
Jump to postI flew them from FLL to Key West and was also surprised at how nice the ATR was. I've often thought that Silver Airways would be a good choice for seasonal flights to the Outer Banks. It's a bit challenging to get to the Outer Banks by flight. Yes, you can fly to ORF or RDU, but one is still left wi...
Jump to postLakeland will be the new ILG. There was a lot of chatter that ILG wouldn’t work, etc. Now look at them. Lakeland is in a great position to be an alternative to MCO or TPA. Similar to how TTN is an alternative to PHL and EWR for some. Looking forward to seeing this succeed. I do hope they consider ad...
Jump to posttwaconnie wrote:Are there any new airlines that would want to pick up LGA slots?
Spirit has a DTW-ORD flight available to be purchased for this Friday.
Appears to be a repositioning flight?
Does anyone know if this route could come back in the future?
]Was hoping they would add service again from PHL to Bologna. They started this route in 2019, but that was cut during Covid. Bologna is an easy gateway to many popular areas (Florence, Tuscany, etc.) Bologna did bad the first time they tried it and AA had already put it on the chopping block befor...
Jump to postNow that Frontier has left SWF, the airport is left with one domestic carrier -- Allegiant. Any possibility of Avelo starting shop up here with flights to Florida? MCO, FLL, PBI, TPA and RSW This airport's location seems to fit in nicely with Avelo's strategy. Small airport, located off the highway,...

Would like to see a few more weekly EWR routes added in the future.
SRQ, FNT, BLV
CLE and MDW would be good additions. Currently, there is no low fare service between Newark and these two cities.
Thoughts on Breeze at GRR?
They just opened a new expansion at the airport. Lots of growth in West Michigan.
Allegiant has performed well.
Maybe CHS, PBI, maybe something out east
Manassas Airport (HEF) correct code. Why would they fly there?? I would love to see Avelo here. But they have very little parking for cars. Do they have TSA?? What would it take to get TSA. ?? Could the terminal handle say 145 pax at a time?? Looking at the exterior terminal photos, it appears the ...
Jump to postThe problem with SWF for Avelo is HVN is too close. At least in my opinion it is. And there's enough overlap from the two that I don't think SWF is justified. Unfortunately SWF has struggled in recent years when it used to be a booming regional airport in the 90s and 2000s. It's a shame to see this...
Jump to postFrontier is leaving SWF in early July. I hope Avelo would consider giving this airport a try. Similar to ILG, it’s right off a nearby highway and and hour’s drive from millions of people living in Northern New Jersey, Westchester, Rockland, Orange Counties and the Hudson Valley. I could see flights ...
Jump to postNo official announcement yet, but Spirit has loaded and is now bookable DTW and EWR starting mid-August.
Great to see another addition to the NYC market.
Looks like NINE new routes from ILG. MYR, CHS, SAV, ILM, BNA, RDU, GSP, DAB, MEL All loaded and available on their site starting late June through early September. WOW! Great additions Going to assume you mean MLB. ILG-MEL would be an insanely long flight :) . I like these additions and I hope they...

ILG has posted an air service expansion announcement for Thursday on their social media outlets.
Possible St. Augustine announcement?
How long before F9 gets a few gates in B? And how long before WN requests CDA extend concourse A and B to the west to add gates? I'd think MDW could lose 31R/13L to extend the terminal, that runway isn't used for anything other than a taxiway. Concourse C is the hidden gem within the Chicago airpor...

Jump to postJAC should definitely be added. If Southwest added BZN, than JAC can definitely be served. BZN had 1133K passenger arrivals for the 12 months ending 1/2023, per RITA BTS Transtats. Jump to postI would like to see Breeze give Naples (APF) a try. I believe with the right flights this could be very successful. HPN and ISP for sure, and maybe a midwestern city like MDW. Jump to postHow are the Vero Beach flights working thus far? I believe Breeze could easily add flights from ISP. Plenty of Long Islanders that can easily fill up a plane 2-3 times a week. Jump to postWill service to SWF resume in the near future? No word. I have specific interest as a crew member and local. Jump to postI think this might be Spirit. The Daytona Beach market has some similarities to Myrtle Beach and Spirit has strived in Myrtle Beach for years.
I could see them being successful with the right markets to Daytona Beach.
Maybe NYC (LGA or EWR) and DTW or ORD.
I believe MCO and LAS will be very successful routes. I'm intrigued to see how the other markets ATL, MSP, BNA, AUS, and DFW pan out. Are the DFW, ATL, and MSP routes supposed to be used to connect to a major hub? Seasonal destinations like the Phoenix-area, Chicago-area, other Florida cities, and m...
Jump to postI think Frontier would be the most likely to launch ISP-ATL. They flew it seasonally for a few years. Unfortunately they dropped it but it makes sense. Jump to postF9 seems to gutting the Northeast. ALB, BTV, PVD and now ROC cut completely.
