Some facts here to share: - KLM cabin crew are all certified to fly three different aircraft types. - KLM B777 pilots can apply after a year of experience to add the B787 to their certification to fly it combined. - KLM has usually one or two "swap" stations in North America to be able to ...

MKE LAS PHX DEN CVG DFW The original rumor read to me like six other cities and that RDU was the "model", so I don't figure RDU. MCO just got AMS and IND just got CDG, so I'd think they're both out. AUS, TPA, CMH, MKE, LAS, MSY I agree that all of those cities are highly likely. Especiall...

The Amsterdam operation seems to be working well for 9W/KL/DL. There were supposedly plans to expand operations by opening BLR-AMS as well as Chennai - Paris. However I haven't seen any recent news about those routes. As the summerseason is opening in 2-3 months time, it seems unlikely that those ro...

Re: List of busiest airports in Europe (2016)

Big increase in passengers in AMS is caused by growth by all airlines at AMS. KLM passed the 30 million passengers mark in 2016 for the first time, which is a big increase. Also EasyJet is expanding rapidly. But lets not forget the impact of Jet Airways moving all their operations to Schiphol, AeroM...

Re: When did SAA stop flying to/from AMS?

They stopped flying to AMS in the 90's. They used to fly 3-4 times a week as a tag on from Frankfurt most of the times. I remember the wanted to start daily flights to AMS with a tag on to CPH. However mainly due to their ties within Star Alliance, they suddenly erased AMS as a station altogether. C...

Re: Should PHL-AMS be upgraded?

Let's not forget there is still one free slot available for JFK-AMS or EWR-AMS to be used by anyone who likes it beacause of the EU ruling after the JV between DL/AF/AZ. KLM had to give up on this slot, but it is available since 2015. It could work for AA with a B757. If they don't take it, Norwegia...

While the poster is incorrect, it is an interesting subject. With both MEA and Saudi Arabian being Skyteam members, it is strange that they do not operate (passenger) flights to AMS.
