UA182 Diversion

Just was browsing FR24 and noticed this crazy diversion. Crossing over St. John’s on way to FRA from DEN and diverting to EWR. Any reasons?

Don't deflect. Cancel the gast contract now, unless Europe wants to be labeled as "hypocrites". The Climate Change activist, Greta Thunberg demands it: https://twitter.com/gretathunberg/status/1356669038664032257 . Yes, let's set our energy policies according to what a deranged high schoo...

Re: Procedures if a sick/incapicated pilot or co-pilot in flight ?

In recent months, a huge number of healthy people have developed sudden serious illness, leading to complete disability and even death. We all know it wasn't caused by meat or fish, much less lazagna. When are we going to take this matter seriously? Yes, those with COVID-19 infections can have comp...

Re: 121.5 now a political forum in US

It’s wrong, it’s pervasive and it’s a lot of Southwest pilots. The voices on guard are the same as the ones using SW call signs. The audio is exactly the same. It’s amateur hour. Not enough how they abuse 123.45 to/from Hawaii, they now want to star on 121.5. Is there some reason that WN has been h...

Re: A220 vs E-195E2 in 2021, market battle finally won by Airbus ?

In a word... No The E2 may not be the best seller but it's far from beaten. Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using Tapatalk Far from beaten? 643 A220s ordered and 179 delivered, vs 205 E2s ordered and 43 delivered; 3:1 ratio for orders. Those numbers are a landslide for the A220. Profit wise though, the ...

How uncompetitive must the new Chinese and Russian planes be if they can't capitalize on the incumbents being fully booked out for years to come. Besides previous mentions of existing fleet infrastructure and mfg support, current offerings by these manufacturers just are not too hot. One could make...

Re: When pilots speak of a specific type of aircraft as "unforgiving" does that indicate a design flaw?

I am not a pilot or engineer or anything like that. I've read some debates here on the Forums on various aircraft types described with the adjective "unforgiving." This is a term taken from morality, ethics and psychology and then used analogically of aircraft. When an aircraft is describ...

Re: Can you tell the plane from this wing shot?

It’s a 767. The 757 does not have a nacelle strake. Pylon looks like a PW4060. If it had a domestic interior ( standard F/C seats), it was probably one of the domestic ETOPS ships 1401-1404 (all now scrapped). 4154767 It is scary how you can tell so much from a photo then again I suppose working on...

Can you tell the plane from this wing shot?

Hello,

I flew from ATL to SAN on Delta in 2016 and was wondering if anyone could tell me what plane I was on based on this wing photo. I know this is tech Ops but I figured the technical people would be best at identifying the A/C from a wing photo. Apologies for the speed sticker overlay.

Re: American Airlines 787-jfk

What are the 787 pilot bases for American? Im guessing DFW is the biggest base. DFW and ORD and PHL I think and that's it. 787s only recently began flying from MIA (2020 and into 2021) but not sure if MIA is a 787 pilot base. LAX maybe. MIA seems to have regular 787 services especially on South Ame...

Thanks for the replies

Do airlines have any issues of getting, let's say, two 738s of which one was made before a production mod and one was made after and thus has a different part scheme in certain systems?

How do late production A/C differ from earlier examples?

Essentially, how does the first few A320/738/etc differ from the latest models of the same A/C on the production line. While a more exaggerated example, the A333 and A332 series aircraft have gained MTOW since 2015 with an intentional upgrade. I'd imagine internal software and hardware upgrades as p...

New Haven has an interstate backed up into it's waterfront and the I-91/I-95 intersection is a concrete mess even with the re-alignment. OK, Komrade. Why have competition in anything, right? This is why pro...

No Mayday call? Nobody in the US uses mayday or pan pan usually unless they are a foreign pilot or maybe a GA pilot. Trust me, that doesn’t make a difference to controllers. If you tell us there’s literally the smallest thing wrong with the plane, we are treating it as an emergency. So you staying ...
