RE: What Am I Doing Wrong With My Photos?

I am using the same equipment for almost 5 years, and my acceptance ratio is as bad as its ever been. Shots from a given shooting day 3 years ago would be accepted with no noise reduction or other special editing, and now an upload attempt from the same shoot will usually get a grain rejection or so...

RE: Cannot Get Photo Accepted

Is that the original? If so, the cut wing is distracting and throws off the balance. Would need to do a tight crop (maybe portrait) and that results in a lot of the image being lost, thus lessening the impact of all those planes.
Too bad, as its a really cool scene.

While we're at it there should also be a ban on comments about medical emergencies and other passenger related issues on standard landing shots. These clearly generate hits and there is nothing visible in the photo to substantiate the comment.

Keep in mind that an over exposed image will be inherently soft as the details and lines become blown out. Also, the more an image is cropped the more sharpening in can take. Teo, I would recommend to shoot as fast as possible on fighters, especially if you are not used to photographing them. 1250/1600 or faster if you can get away with it. There are of course benefits to a slower shutter like lower iso, better DOF, nicer looking afterburners, and higher chance of catchi...

check the custom functions for AF. There are 17 or so different settings and some can greatly effect your ability to consistently get sharp shots.
Auto WB is very good on the MkIII and in natural light conditions it is usually spot on.

can your editor reduce noise on a duplicate layer? If so then you can erase the areas where you don't want NR from that layer thus revealing the original. Or just laso the areas you want to NR first. I would still recommend doing this on a duplicate or adjustment layer.
