Back in the day, mid-70's. Boarding for the Air India 747's was via stairs at BOM.

I have boarded BA 777-200ER flight at LHR with stairs and that too multiple times. Its usually parked at a remote stand in the vicinity of the Qantas A380. This was when BA flew the 777 to DEN.
