With drastic capacity-cut across all major airlines and plans for planes to be parked, it seems that older 747s will be the first to be retired. Will this be a quick end for 747s at QF, LH, BA and KLM? Will 747-8i follow thereafter?

Air Italy is all smokes and mirrors. No real plan or strategy. They are justifying their seasonal approach to route planning as a novice business strategy in the airline business. The India market sudden exit is a clear sign of having no clue of how to manage an airline.

AZ served MXP-SFO from June 3rd, 1999 to Sept 30th, 2001 on a 767-300ER. It operated a 747-200 for the month of Nov 2000.

I do recall Lufthansa announcing A380 service from MUC to LAX, HKG, and PEK. However, HKG and PEK will get the A359 and I assume when more A359's are delivered LAX will get it to. MUC-MIA going from an A333/A346 to an A380 is a big capacity increase. Is the market really that big to handle an A380?...
