There are a couple of large, open parking lots at the approach end of the north runways on Alverstone Ave. The lots are used by construction workers. I've been there several times this year and not had a problem.

Jump to postI had a similar experience as Silver1SWA last year at Miramar. Overcast and hazy all day on Friday. The crowds are a bit lighter on Friday, so if you get there when the show opens you can get some unobstructed views of the static display flight decks. Other than that, it is a tough shoot.

I was in the north east Parking lot of the Proud Bird on 5/23 trying to grab some shots of the arrivals on the 25's. An LAPD patrol unit stopped and asked for my ID. They were decent. They didn't shoo me away. Next time, I'm stopping in for one of those Cadillacs.
