Both have landed safely. Different issues on each flight apparently-the incidents were not linked. Unusual coincidence I guess.
Apparently both QF63 to JNB and QF7 to DFW are currently dumping fuel after take-off from SYD. Security threat I wonder?

Regional Express (REX) in Australia has a fleet of more than 50 I believe. They have been in continuous service with REX and their predecessors Hazelton and Kendall since the early 90's. My first flight on a 340 was with Hazelton from ARM to SYD in about 1992. My most recent flight was from BHQ to A...
Jump to postI think it would be better to just play news and sports reports in a lounge and to leave the commentary out, whether from the left or right. The news networks (both ABC and Foxtel) seem to struggle to find enough quality content for their 24h news channels so fill in the gaps with mainly left-wing ...
Jump to postHi allrite, It's not my politics and it wasn't in my report! I wasn't actually referring to Singapore at all (for the most part I agree with you about their heritage conservation), but rather I could have done without the Foxtel though with their miserable (or smugly tr(i)umphant) conservative comme...

Jump to postWhat a coincidence! My wife and I visited Madrid in December. Jump to postInteresting report thanks. I have been thinking about trying HX business class as their fares are only a fraction of what CX and QF charge ex SYD.
Jump to postInteresting to read a trip report about an airline we don't hear much about in Australia. The food looks good, but I have to say those F seats look very similar to the J seats... What's the difference?
Jump to postNice trip report, I like your style. We recently stayed at the Due Torri in Verona. It is also a very good hotel. We love Bologna and Florence too. You are correct about the reason for the lack of an iron in the hotel room - irons are banned from Italian hotel rooms in case someone manages to set fi...
Jump to postI agree with the consensus here. I will be very sad to see BA exit Australia but commercial realities make it almost certain IMO.

Jump to postFrom my observation... When arriving in the US on an international flight the aircraft stops some metres before it reaches the gate. Jump to postI recall in 2000 flying on a very elderly and worn-out Aloha 737-200. The exterior was all white (no titles) and the seat belt/no smoking signs were in Mandarin or Cantonese. The overwing exit instructions were in another Asian language I couldn't identify.
