Re: New Zealand Aviation Thread - April 2020

AirNZ off on a return mission to DEL tomorrow. The logistics to achieve this in the current lockdown situation (both countries) must be awesome! Well done! I can't imagine positioning/repositoning crew, so presumably the plane will layover long enough to get the same crew to return AirNZ have an am...

Thanks for the update. What bugs me is that KL is not fully state owned. The government only holds about 14%. I guess they rely don't want any issues with the PRC.

Why cant state carries with their original names fly to PRC? How does their original name cause issues? I dont get it.

Re: New Zealand Aviation Thread - December 2019

KUL is literally a stones throw from SIN, I personally think it would have to take something pretty drastic for NZ to fly there. I'm not sure distance from SIN is a reason not to do KUL - the two are in different countries, and different markets. KIX is really close to TYO, and OOL is really close ...

Re: New Zealand Aviation Thread - December 2019

Does anybody know about the load factors between AKL and KUL? I have been wondering if there is enough to warrant another airline flying the same route. As it stands, MH has the monopoly on that for a long time. Their ex- Air Berlin planes used on the route doesn't help their image but due to their ...

Can someone tell me why doesn't Air NZ or any other airline start a AKL- KUL- AKL service? Is there simply not enough pax to justify it? The reason I ask is, Malaysia Airlines product is so bad on this route now that they are using the Ex Berline A330-200s product on this route. Their business produ...

Re: Malaysia Airlines to bring back A380's on KUL-LHR, plans for high capacity A380's ditched

MH is a real mess thanks to the A380. They haven’t got a clue what to do with the odd ball in their fleet. Operating the aircraft on key routes and scheduling based on demand is a wise move. Let’s see how long this plan will last. EK413 Thanks to the A380? Seriously, if an airline is a mess because...

Re: New Zealand Aviation - March 2017

ORD & DEN make sense. But ORD's O&D plus massive connections East & to Europe look solid. DEN is TOW restricted to AKL. The 275 seat 789 would be limited to max passenger load or ~ 31t of payload, no more. ORD would be good for about 35t. That seems a bit odd since DEN has one of the lo...
