Currently AA operates year-round service to London and Tokyo on the 787.

Current seasonal service is offered to Athens, Barcelona, Dublin, Guatemala City, Paris, Rome and Venice using all 787’s.

I would have hoped STL would have seen some more love considering the last MD80s were from TWA and STL has been a huge MD80 base over the years. Agreed, tho ORD makes sense considering 20 years ago the MD80 pretty much ruled at ORD ... not to mention most of the flights between ORD-DFW-ORD were on ...

Here’s a link to an economy trip report on AA between DFW and HNL from 2017 that shows the complimentary offerings in coach. It’s a basic boxed sandwich / wrap and chips type meal.

Y’all, I wasn’t referring to AA getting Wow’s A321’s as grounded Max 8 replacements, I just meant in general. I know American already has new ones on order, but perhaps they could come in handy.

I think ORD would be a good candidate if you consider Ethiopian’s recent success there. The route’s performing so well that they’ve increased service from 3X to 5X weekly.

Could anyone see F9 starting ORD-GRB, too? It’s a route that is traditionally very expensive (albeit most people drive between the two cities, I’m assuming), but it would be interesting to see if an ULCC could succeed on this or a similar regional route.

I just glanced at a January 1985 Northwest Orient Timetable and a good example of this would be the ORD-MSP route ... with several of the flights using the 747 and DC-10. And get thus ... they served a full breakfast in coach on the morning 747 run ... that’s an hour or less in the air!
