I knew HU had financial issues. I think it is likely to see CA take over the PEK service from BOS. I am hoping CX returns perhaps in 2021.

I always wondered why the Yak-40 did not operate for more carriers in developing countries in Africa, South and Central America. Would have been useful in Alaska and Northern Canada. Could operate from dirt fields and less developed airports.

Re: Will the Coronavirus be the end for the 747?

I would say as most 744'S are most likely paid off and Saudi's increasing oil production meaning cheaper fuel, if anything means airlines might be considering hanging on to airframes with cycles left on the frames and defer deliveries of new aircraft..

Would BA be a possibility. Assuming they get a favorable lease rate they could be used to facilitate the earlier than planned retirements of a few of BA'S 744 fleet or grow LGW fleet of 777'S for routes needing higher capacity.

I would add MHT from a peak of nearly 4 million passengers to under 2 million in 2019. WN is the largest operator but has reduced the number of flights and destinations served non stop.. Still has a lot of air freight from and to the area.
