Right now KLM is part of a French holding company. Should the crown not be gone now it is not Royal (Koninklijk) anymore? I think KLM Asia still exists solely for tax reasons.

KLM will fly at least to 2021 with them and celebrate 50 years of constant 747 service. BA (BOAC) and LH (and maybe QF?) are the only other airlines that can claim that. Would like to see some special liveries...

The early KLM 744's are nominated for retirement once the 789 are coming. They are the highest cycled 744's in the world. The last one is I think planned to retire in March 2021 after exactly 50 years of 747 service with KLM... I think only Lufthansa will last longer because of the 748.

I think it is a AM DC-8. I tried to blow up the picture a little and that is what I think. I do not think it is a Pan American because they were almost always parked at the gates.
