I took this flight in May, although it was on a 764 with AVOD. Great flight, and it was right around 8 hours. Dinner service was pretty good; breakfast not so much. They'll probably play 2-3 movies on the overhead monitors. Bring a book/ipod/computer and you'll be fine.

Yeah, I don't know why they have been sending CRJ's when they could just fill up a Saab or previously an ATR 72. IDK, maybe it doesn't make sense with Mesaba retiring the Saab's soon. I just got back from Spain and flew the 764ER on my ATL-MAD and MAD-ATL. Hands down, their IFE is much better than US and the service too. The food was pretty darn good for a coach meal as well!

I love the sound of the JT8D's, and being a Delta flyer for the most part I usually try to score 30E or 31E on the 2 side. It's right behind the wing so you get a nice view of the flaps and some engine noise but not too much in my opinion. If you want quiet, than go for the front.
