As to why they did this, I do not know but if they did decide to chose to use letters at the end, the would not be able to use "CO" because per the FAA, no N number can contain the letters "O" or "I" so they are not confused with the numbers 0 and 1.

Jump to postIt appears Amazon Air is adding 20 Boeing 737-800BCFs to be operated by Southern Air (9S) for at least 7 years with an option to extend for an additional 3 years. From the article, there is also a pic of a new (modified) Prime Air livery. I believe this would be the first operator of the -800BCFs in...
Jump to postThis isn't the first time F9 has done GRB-DEN. They ran it back in about 2010. It was done to compete with then UAs ATW-DEN route (which IIRC, was also moved to GRB). Eventually both carriers dropped the route. Now UA brought back ATW-DEN last year so this doesn't surprise me that F9 is going to giv...
Jump to postPlot twist: The 25 175s end up going to Air Wisconsin. That is just complete theory but they REALLY need new aircraft and they just started their JSA with United again with just CRJ-200s. Jump to postThis really is nothing new. Freedom Air had a MCO base while they were flying. Air Wisconsin used to have a ORF crew base. Air Wisconsin also offers a MKE base now for pilots and FAs. Jump to postI've been on some CRJ-200 flights lately where the crew has asked 2-4 people to move to seats in the rear of the airplane for W&B issues. Jump to postYou are correct. It's purpose is to prevent glare from the nose hitting the flight deck. I would think it depends on aircraft type (angle of the nose) and color of the plane that determines whether or not it apply it.
