Re: Was the A380 configuration correct?

What would help is if the A388 was the baseline instead of the never offered A389 stretch. Pulling a few tons of mass out would help the A380's horrid weight efficacy. It didn't help that it was a bit slow compared to the 787 and bumping its paper ratings to match the M.86 didn't help the sales camp...

Re: Middle East A320 hit by a stray bullet while landing

Dumb question, but how does a bullet puncture the fuselage from above ? Does the flight path have any mountains near by? What goes up, usually comes back down. It will only be falling like a rock on the way down, far too slow to puncture the aircraft and leave “entry” wounds as seen in the photo No...

For the bullet holes, why shoot a bombed out airplane? Just as a final insult? Bullets don't stop when they miss the target, so the intended target might have been well away from the plane. How much cabin height does this have? It looks like I'd have to crawl to my seat from the photo which makes it look like the plane is no taller than a pickup. Its my personal feeling that the more you have to bend to walk to you seat the less interested people will be in spending big money.

Economics on the engines is why you aren't hearing about it. I expect they are still paying off the costs in designing and certifying the engines for the 787. The 321neo beats the 320neo in that it's barely more expensive to fly. This means you can a abuse it for a 320 route just fine. You will earn back some of the operating cost difference at peak load times where the 320 lacks the seats

A220-5 makes sense only if the airline uses the A220-3 and not the A32x series. The fuel you might save you are going to pay for in higher servicing costs, and higher depreciation. It also removes the ability to haul cargo if you have extra payload available, the 6Y fuselage resulting in a massive i...
