Laws are different in different countries, but in the United States, if you are in public - even standing in your own yard - I can take your picture and post it wherever I want. As long as I don't use it for commercial purposes, there isn't much you can legally do to stop me. You could argue that u...Jump to post
Judging by the lack of interaction by the moderators / screeners I will take it as they do not know if consent was given from the subjects. I believe the photographer in question is a screener here too so it would be great to hear from him also.Jump to post
Just seen another Phuket special that's made it onto the front page ... whilst I like these shots I must ask if the photographer has the permission from the "subjects" (let's face it, the main subject isn't the aircraft flying over) to be posted onto a public website?Jump to post
It would be very interesting to see what the daily traffic figures are for a.net now - when I uploaded back in the day it was known to be the best place on the web however i'm now not so sure. I had a couple of rejections recently that I thought had been a bit harsh (especially as some images were t...Jump to post
I'm not sure if it's just me but I think you need to look at your aspect ratio - try cropping at 3:2
What lens are you using? Are you cropping heavily?
Hi All I've been trying some new sharpening techniques as I seem to get a lot of Sharpness rejections using my new MacBook - https://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/airliners/1/0/5/5242501.jpg?v=v4e8a4020f05 How is this one? To me it looks razor sharp on my screen (maybe a little over sharpened if i'm ...Jump to post
Sorry to bring up an old thread but it'll be interesting to see updated traffic stats for the site. I'm not one to usually complain however my latest upload (Ok, it's a TUI 737 so not exactly a rarity!) has been online for 24 hours and has just 3 views! I'm not really aware of the site stats (as in...Jump to post
No worries Kas! It's not the best image I agree but I liked the motion blur.
Just invested in a 100-400L so hope to be able to replicate these over the summer!
Well I appealed the Jet 2 and it got rejected for all 3 again and quality! Kind of frustrating but onto the next one I guess ...Jump to post
Hi Kas & All, The panning shot got rejected for Noise, Soft and underexposed - all 3 rejection reasons probably couldn't be helped due to the type of shot! is it worth appealing? http://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/airliners/3/6/0/4958063.jpg?v=v4712ebf9c0b I also had this one rejected due to &q...Jump to post
Just uploaded a new, smaller version with a a slightly more aggressive sharpen.

Ooops! I set the Flickr link to private -

Hopefully that's better
Any help with this one? If anything it looks a little over-sharp on my screen!

I'm sorry but how can a large company like Demand Media not have someone on call out / in the office to sort out problems such as these? Did they actually link to your image on a.net? Sorry may have missed that bit. I would be shooting high quality JPEG until I was confident that the pictures were coming back high quality. By the looks of it you are shooting into the sun, which 99% of the time will give you poor results. I had the 70-300 Tamron when I first started out. For the money, I could not fault it - it was a great beginner lens in my opinion. With the correct settings you could get some cracking results - don't ask me what those settings are though as I've not had one for 4 years now! A nice upgrade would be...Jump to post
