Re: What's next for Allegiant? - discussion thread

The FIS facility at SBN was built at the request of Allegiant. Airport is working on seasonal twice a week SBN-CUN. Allegiant just isn't ready for International yet. Not ready because of aircraft, internal systems, ops or all of the above? I believe it is internal systems and operations. I also won...

Is the Home Run Inn the same as the pizza in the frozen food aisle? If so, steer clear of that. It's surprising that McD's is getting the ax as it is a long time Chicagoland outfit. Doesn't mean it is good, just surprising. Nuts on Clark stays but it wasn't the best the last time I went through MDW.

Many of the G4 cuts to VPS are seasonal summer routes. As for the others I've never noticed G4 going to zero before, just drops down to 0.3 or 0.1. There may be some truth to the LAS-CVG and MFE routes as the last two 757 retire. The strangest add is MYR-SWF in the winter.

ANC is a really interesting choice. Basicaly no LCC service and no ULCC. I'm sure a few weekly to LAS, AZA, LAX, OAK, and maybe even HNL could work. EWR to MYR and SJU will probably happen. Not sure if G4 wants the competition on the Florida routes. FLL to SJU, AUS and possible MDT would be the most likely. PIE to both ROC and OGS is a matter of time. A big question for AZA is if G4 transfers to PHX after this year, that would put several of the...

My understanding is that the 757s print money, not necessarily on HNL, but on charters. The bigger issue is that the engines are coming up for overhaul, and considering the volatile nature of the charter business, with no guarantee, the airline has no desire to rebuild the engines, if they cannot p...

I'm curious as to how Spirit boards flights. Is it by row or is it by zone. Do they have any zone priority like Big Front Seats and Spirit fare club members. Finally how to they handle knowing which pax have paid for carry on's and who have not.

Crew availability is a big logistic reason you don't see redeyes. Another reason is G4 entire sales gimmick is to sell a cheap seat attached to a not so cheap vavaction package and I don't think many pax on vacation would want to leave or return in the middle of the night.
