It's worth reading up on Manx2 which morphed into Citywing. Both were running marginal routes, predominantly to and from the Isle of Man, and both closed down for safety oversights by the operating carriers.

In the grander scheme of things the loss of Flybe would be more dangerous for it's major hubs in Belfast, Southampton, or Doncaster and Cardiff. Why were only "a couple dozen" passengers stranded overnight in Shannon? Did this flight really have so few passengers? Were other passengers rebooked and sent onward without much delay? There's only 32 seats on the BA A318s......."a couple of dozen" is a respectable load for LC...

I worked on BAs DC10-30s from 1994 to the end of service. All of them had main deck galleys, and all had been converted to BAs ACE galley standard post BCal takeover, with the exception of G-NIUK which was with Caledonian Airways from 1994 onwards.
