Spirit is going to IND. Serving MCO, Myrtle Beach and LAS starting in March. I am sure FLL, TPA and JAX may follow soon.

Since it was announced roughly this time last year, I'd like to see if/when they add to CMH. They went great guns out of the gate with 7 destinations and have added a gate since, capturing 4% of the market in the 7 months they've been here (using numbers from September). NK is probably not in too m...
Jump to postI think JAX-FLL is largely to use a free aircraft early in the am/late in the pm to feed FLL connections. If it injects profitable $$$ into the Latin America and Caribbean network, it will stay. That is correct. Everyone is looking at it from some big strategic move when it’s a simple connection to...
Jump to postThe ULCC would need to be strategic in entering into MIA. Spirit was able to make huge inroads into ORD and DFW and is now the 3rd largest at ORD. You would need to pick a market not already served by AA out of MIA and then add slowly so you can muscle for the fight.

Jump to postAs the FL hometown airline strategy is being executed, this seems to make sense. They should add FLL-JAX-DTW and connect all of the destinations they serve there. Kind of like what they have done with MCO and ATL.

Jump to postWow.. a 757-300 on that route, that's hot! It sounds like ATA could really use a bigger plane on that route permanently if they are not going to do another R/T. They lack A/C and slots from what I hear so it would only make sense.
