Re: Anyone have the story of a jumbo landing emergency and seats had to be removed to get plane out?

On June 2, 1997, a Saudi Arabian Airlines B747-200 was approaching Chennai (MAA), India. The Captain asked for visual clearance as he had the runway in sight. Only problem was that he had sighted rwy 12/30 at Air Force Station Tambaram (about 6nm away) instead MAA which had a secondary runway of sim...

Emirates claimed that they carried 66 tons of cargo recently on BOM-DXB on 77W (pure cargo ops) using only belly capacity. I am not sure this figure is correct even though it got reported in the press. I read somewhere the maximum structural weight that can be carried in the belly is about 52 tons. ...

B787-8 / -9 performance out of GCM

Dear All

Can somebody please tell me if there would be load penalties for BA operating a B787-8 or -9 GCM-LHR non-stop with a full load? What would be the maximum load that BA could carry? GCM runway is 2135m.

Appreciate any feedback.

On 06MAY20 flydubai operating a Boeing 737-800 passenger aircraft with cargo loaded on seats in the passenger cabin besides the belly, carried a total of 3310 pcs weighing 19,245 kgs all total.

Is this a record on the B737-800 passenger aircraft, can somebody verify?

This is not an A330-300 as the span looks greater than the length of the aircraft. A 333 is about 208ft in length while the 332 is about 193ft. Both have a wing span of 197ft.
