DL can't expand that much more...not with gate space being at a premium. DL potentially has to "sacrifice" existing service to bring in new ones. The amount of construction at the airport isn't helping them much. But in the future, I'll be curious to see what DL does when some of those gat...Jump to post
I believe JetsuiteX is also buying/leasing ERJ-135's. The Contour E-135's are pretty nice with just 30 seats in them! I've flown them a couple of times so far. All the airplanes were on lease. JetSuite X bought the two newer ERJ-145s. The other two are still owned by European interests. Really? The...Jump to post
ACCS300 wrote:Was California Pacific one of the shortest lived airlines ever? How many weeks/days were they actually in operation?
There is a market for relatively clean low hour E-145's in Africa and the Caribbean. The only airline buying ERJ's in the US right now is Contour and they seem to prefer E-135's since they want to stay Part 135 and are therefore limited to 30 seats. TAR in Mexico has 11 in their fleet. Are they sti...Jump to post
It's interesting to see how airlines are "guessing" when the MAX airplanes will be re-certified. My guess is not until after the 1st of next year. Boeing needs to be test-flying the revised software like mad right now...testing the exact scenarios that took the crashed airplanes hundreds o...Jump to post
I remember AS beginning Russia Far East service with 727-200's.
At the same time, both Aeroflot and Mavial Magadan flew to the Russian Far East as far as SEA, through ANC.
Hardly surprising. I'm sure very few people in Europe want to fly into OAK and then schlep into the city. What flights does Norwegian still have at Oakland? And do people think they will keep those, or eventually move everything to SFO? I think they still have seasonal Scandinavian destinations. Bu...Jump to post
Even more interesting since AS doesn’t have any connections at the FLL end like B6. I wonder if either (more likely B6, I’d think) would fly SJC-FLL. Any idea what the is PDEW on that pair? But AS and their partners have more connections available in SEA than B6 does in FLL. Oh, crap. I misread thi...Jump to post

Those living in Vancouver would probably find a much better deal flying out of PAE instead of BLI. I think, without traffic, you are looking at an extra hour drive, plus the more expensive parking, starting at $20 a day at PAE. With weekday afternoon traffic, you could easily be looking at a minimu...Jump to post
The MCO-SYR cut on B6 is especially disappointing. Allegiant must be killing their yields with SFB/PIE-SYR. Finally, some changes at AS. Heavy on Florida this winter - is this their highest service level yet on PDX/SEA-MCO/TPA? I'm just glad to see AS adding to their existing routes instead of goin...Jump to post

Not sure how long this has been up on CPAir's website: RETURNING TO THE SKIES We have been busy huddling with our managers and consulting with industry experts. In 2020 I've heard there adding SNA,RNO,TUS,COS and ABQ. I agree that NK adding LAS-SNA, LAS-RNO, LAS-TUS, LAS-COS, and LAS-ABQ nonstop service will likely happen if NK adds service to LAS, RNO, TUS, COS, and ABQ. In addition, NK adding LAS-CLT, LAS-PHX, and LAS-RDU nonstop service will probably ha...Jump to post

SEA is way over served to Asia. Not surprising to see MF pull out. That's too bad...but I totally agree that SEA is way over-served to Asia. The irony is when DAB had the old, tiny terminal back in the late 80's/early 90's, DAB had several airlines like EA, DL, AA, PA Express, Presidential, CO and US. When DAB debuted their new terminal, they all left...even when some airlines went out of business.Jump to post
Ever picked someone up at SEA, especially on a summer evening? I do know someone who looked at PAE-PDX-OAK and said it was a four hour connection. I would think SMF is a candidate for PAE service also. I loved to drive out their at 11:30pm, pouring down rain, traffic backed up down the freeway, peo...Jump to post
I always felt like PDX-PAE was a weird route to do 4x daily. The only way it made sense was if the connection opportunities to east coast i.e. IAD, ATL, FLL, etc. were available, but they're not. Why would anyone want to connect from PAE to go to California when the E175 can do it fine and when PAE...Jump to post
PAE-SMF sounds right. That’s my guess too. PAE-OAK is my next guess. I don’t see PAE-GEG being that big of a market, but I could be wrong. Something like PAE-OGG could be a dark-horse if they are able to start mainline there. AS doesn't really have any interest in OAK. Loads between SEA and OAK are...Jump to post
DL has had no interest in PAE. Right or wrong believed PAE would merely come at expense of SEA route performance. I'm really surprised DL hasn't started service to SLC or even MSP... They have to have FFers north of Seattle that would love to fly out of PAE right? That's probably a reason why WN de...Jump to post
In a strange sort of way, I kind of wish AS does an early morning departure/late night arrival between SEA and PAE for better connectivity. But I'm pretty sure it won't happen...not cost effective. My guess is that some of the routes are not working out for AS...maybe there will be new mainline service. It appears AS is replacing a LAX flight with a PHX flight. Or UA is reducing their flights at PAE already.Jump to post
no more mergers please (even though I sadly agree AS & B6 will likely end up together), and SY has a loyal following in MSP, as well as an impressive growth strategy going on. I don't think there will be too many more AS PHX outside of what you see. There's too much AA and WN there, IMHO. If anything, you will see additional frequencies...like PAE-PHX. I think you will eventually see the A220 extend current seasonal routes to year-round or near year-round, and add frequency to other routes. For example, both ONT and OAK could eventually benefit from more comprehensive service to ATL (frequencies closer to what you see in SMF or SJC, but on the A2...Jump to post
But I don’t get why DL’s using 220 to upgague elsewhere when they could be using them to open up new routes to ATL. BFI, IFP, BOI, IDA, GEG, BFL, etc. to ATL would print money!! I agree 100% there is so much untapped potential out of Atlanta that is being over looked and the A220 is the perfect pla...Jump to post
