I would be shocked if UA wanted to update their livery, They seem to not really care about their image. Obviously less pleasant to be in economy than up front on an ULH flight, however I think now that I am older I prefer a stop after 15 hours or so. Get in a shower at a lounge. As long as it lasts, GS gets me into the FCL in NRT as long it lasts, and that's a pretty nice quiet place to be.

2-3-2is the economy layout on 763 and 764's. Their cabin isn't as wide as the 777's, the 772's have 3-3-3 and the 77W's have 3-4-3 in Y.

I flew on N648UA 763 AMS-EWR on 1/28 and it had the new Polaris business cabin. Sat in seat 1F (center) which had a nice large footwell. Due to lack of sleep in Amsterdam I slept probably 8 hours of the flight home, but can vouch for it being a sweet ride. Wish I had been able to enjoy it more!

As WPvsMV mentioned taking away airline alliance captivity, I would say AMS is the nicest and easiest tot transfer through. Can'r really comment on CDG. FRA is great. MUC is awesome. LHR T2 to T2 connections aren't bad (Star Alliance). I think I like ZRH best but not sure if they cover the ME/Africa...

While I understand the average flyer will opt for the lowest flight, I am stuck with UNITED which while may delay me a day or two I know will ultimately get me to my destination. I wouldn't want the sleepless nights of whether Norwegian could do that after the summer 2018 season ends.

Agree Y class seats are pretty tough to bear on long flights, and C-class European seats basically the same with blocked center. But in terms of reliability, cleanliness, C&F-Class longhaul product, LH is pretty amazing. I would fly them more if not for GS spending qualifications on United.
