Re: AA's new branding

For me, the thing I dislike about the new livery, branding is just how big a leap away it was from the old. If you look at the branding chronologically, you'll see that there WAS a constant - an eagle betwixt two As - for the logo. The font of the logo, the style of the eagle, the type used on the &...

Re: AA's new branding

Whoever heard of making an airline choice over what the podium looks like. Seen this strawman come up over and over in my time lurking - and I gotta say: it is quite intellectually dishonest - nobody (far as I see, at least) is implying this is happening, and you don't need to imply that to have a ...

Re: FAA agrees to Santa Monica airport closure

So... stupid question: Are there any remnants at the airport left from the days when the Douglas corporation used it, and if so, would they be preserved whatever happens to the rest of the airfield?

Re: Seat size regulations in the US

Yeah guys. And can I have free champagne and hot meal too, whilst you are all busy fixing this? Oh, and don't forget the free hold luggage. And cute stewardesses, thanks. You don't need to be in favor of regulations to, IMO, see that this is hardly an apt comparison - minimum pitch/with vs free hot...

Re: The future of Eastern Airlines?

They are gone. With the Swift MOU, the certificate will be surrendered to the FAA. Some call it a merger, some an acquisition. The 2 remaining planes will roll over to Swift along with some of the staff. Along with all Eastern IP, including logos, branding, and so on - all of which will be incorpor...

Re: SXM: Maho Beach Road to be rerouted following fatality

The easier and cheaper solution would have been just a big blast barrier. The concrete barrier between the road and the beach is the problem. Replacing it with something less hard is probably cheaper than constructing a blast barrier. Indeed, if anyone deserves judging here it seems to me it's whoe...

Re: Greenpeace: Schiphol and KLM need to shrink

I might be talking out of me arse a bit, bear with me - just have an opinion, is all. Part of me can't help but just feel like Greenpeace would be more useful if they kept to doing things like advocating for continued refinement of, improvement of aircraft engine technology (greener, more fuel effic...

Re: Woman dies at SXM after falling from jet blast

How about if the the airport authority erected a concrete wall at this site to replace the guardrail and fence? Make it of such construction and height that it can not be scaled by humans. But wouldn't there be a risk - even if slight - to the aircraft coming in, seeing as the threshold is literall...

Re: Photobucket blocked everyone's photo's demands $399 to restore

I think the biggest issues people have are that 1) it happened without ANY notice whatsoever, and 2) the pricing is so high. How in the name of hell do they expect to survive with such high fees, and a lack of a more limited free option, when competing services have much, much lower fees (maybe up t...

Re: Photobucket blocked everyone's photo's demands $399 to restore

If you have enough bandwidth, host your own. Any photo uploaded to a free site is their property , you have no say. So? That doesn't mean they are free from criticisms, provided they are rationally, and politely made, and is not really "anything goes" - even free services have to act in a...

Re: The best steakhouses in Orlando/New York City

Peter Luger is supposed to be the best in New York, it's in my bucket list. Been to the one in Brooklyn (as opposed to their Great Neck location) 2 times in the last 4 years, will be three times as of tomorrow, and I have to say... it is expensive, but damn good. There is the porterho...
